Your machine has been locked because there is too much pressure inside the machine. Unplug it for about 24 hours and leave it with the lever up. After that it should come open. Carefully clean out the tiny nozzles to make sure there isn't any loose coffee hanging out in there. This happens if you make your own pods. Just be grateful that it didn't explode all over your kitchen!

Believe it or not, vinegar is a blessing for cleaning nearly anything out of your coffee maker.

Fill your water reservoir 1/4th full with vinegar, then fill it the rest of the way up with water.

Run the coffee maker, then let it sit for about 10 minutes. Pour the mixture back in to the reservoir and run it again. Let it sit another 10 minutes.

Dump the mixture and use plain water this time. Let it sit for another 10 minutes. Dump the water, then repeat with clean plain water.

Wash the filter basket and pot with hot soapy water. If the vinegar smell is still present, just run it again with plain clean water.

SOURCE: Senseo HD-7810 Coffee Maker: how many uses can i get out of one coffee pad?...

Hi. They are only made for one shot, because the coffee will get weaker and weaker the more you use it. Also, it can compact and not let anything through.

The official stance from Philips on their website is this:

"We do not recommend this. The second cup of coffee will be rather weak. Also make sure the lid is closed properly, and do not press the 2-cup button if you want to brew only one cup."

My coffee making won't brew coffee?

If it turns on and nothing is happening it may be that the burner for the water is has gone out. At that point its cheaper getting another coffee maker then fixing it. They all come with a one year warranty you can probably send it back to Manufacturer and get it replaced.

Display illuminates - but no display of time, etc.

My coffee maker is a Signature Classic and when I turn it on the light turns on but nothing happens. The water doesn't steam and the hot plate under my coffee pot doesn't heat up either, what's wrong I need my coffee?

Coffee maker beeping

Is your grinder in and the lid down? My coffee maker (grind & brew) started beeping after I cleaned it and turned the left knob clockwise with the grinder still disassembled. There's a little button that is depressed when you close the lid with the grinder in there (I'd guess it's a safety feature). I pressed down that button, and the beeping went away.
