I AM UNABLE TO CONNECT A DSL MODEM AND ROUTER THROUGH SWITCH. AT A TIME I AM ABLE WORK ONLY INTERNET OR LOCAL NETWORK??? PLZ GIVE SOLUTION

Set the modem back to how it was to start with. Plug it into a computer and make sure it is working.
Plug the modem into the routed port on the router. This is labelled ADSL on the one I have here, yours may be different - regardless it's the one that goes to the outside world.
Set the router to factory and plug the LAN side into the switch. Let the router handle DHCP for the LAN and the modem provide DHCP for the router. This results in two layers on NAT, but it's easier than figuring out how to put your modem into bridge mode.

II gave my router to my mother it has already been set up for an encryption I gave them the passkey and it is not working could this be due to the fact she has dsl internet and I had cable

>No, it really doesn't matter what type of service you have.
>To get it fixed just make sure that if your mom uses a modem and you hooked the router to it, modem must be in BRIDGED mode before you can make the router work.
>To set the modem to bridged mode you need to contact your mom's DSL provider so they can walk through it

In the diagram below, if this is your setup, modem has to be on Bridged Mode:

Phone jack --- modem --- Linksys Router --- computer

D-link DGL-4500 is not accessing my dsl modem

make sure the dsl modem is in bridge mode. you do this by connecting directly to the modem then accessing modem configuration page. after doing this connect the way everything was before. now go to router admin page, then setup tab at the top, then choose internet, manual setup. in the place where its says my internet connection is select PPPoE. then put in your dsl username, password and etc. save settings. this should fix the problem

Ip problem

It is common to have this as the default IP to connect to equipment.

I suggest you unplug your modem while you set up your router. You can also change the default IP for the router while in the settings. be sure to remember the new IP or you will have to do a factory reset to get it back to default

And the typical setup for the westell 6100 that centurytel uses:

Centurytel will provide you with your username and password.

PPPoE Configuration:
VPI 8
VCI 35
Protocol: PPPoE

Hope this helps.

How to put dsl-320T in full bridge mode?

You could install Router Techs firmware on your modem www.routertech.org and it would give you the option to put the modem in full bridge mode. However I'm not sure the hardware on the modem fully supports it. You might have to use half bridge mode and let your router do the DHCP.

Can't get Trendnet TEW-432 router to connect to internet with motorola modem

I had this same problem. I was going to go ahead and call ATT and ask them to put my modem into bridge mode, but I messed around a bit more....

I went ahead and turn on PPPoE...tried to run the set up again. Well it worked. Not the internet connection is working through the modem. For some reason, the setup changed PPPoE back to DHCP Client, but it's working now. Give this a shot before calling ATT if you like. Good luck.
