I dot not have the remote for this TV and the volume is set to "fixed" is there any way I can fix this on the tv directly. The tv only has 4 buttons: ~TV/Video ~Volume ~Channel ~On/Off Is there any way to access the TV menu or reset the TV itself without the remonte? Would a universal remote solve these issues?

try not to mix areas in the tv chasing several problems.
Think you have an animal with several heads now:
Finally Start over! Get into de convergence and get your three tubes at least close to convergence (forget auto focus now) three screens together or almost but three rectangules with white noise. No having GUI you mean OSD (i gess) (on screen display) channels appearing when you push that button or audio level line or menu letters (several buttons have to be touch to make sure of there is not OSD.
if the tv has not white noise the screens are without convergence. you are digging in a set with maybe 5 problems the three you told me plus the other posibilities im gessing and i hope you don't have. So slow down with the repair and try step by step. bye now.
