This is the second unit I have had the audio fail on. The first one was within the first year. They replaced the entire tv and now a year and a half later the replacement has failed in audio. The picture is fine, just the audio is dead.

Is there a component I can replace? I never thought the audio was very good in the tv as it never had much volume. Now it has none.

I am an electrical engineer and have plenty of practicable experience in electronics so if I can get my hands on the schematic for this tv maybe I could troubleshoot it. But if the manufacturer has a known fix, I would like to know what it is before I rip it apart.

    The serial number is 505KCNL1B471.

I can be reach at [email protected]. Thanks for anyones help.

We have had our tv for about 2 years now. The speakers went out about 9 months after we bought it. We have our TV also hooked up to go through stereo speakers if we wish for movies and things. The sound would still come through the stereo but not the TV. The technicians came and picked up the tv to look at. They brought it back saying we changed the speaker settings of which we never touched. So here a few months back the speakers went out again on the TV. About two weeks later the TV speakers stated working again.

Now here a couple of days ago the speakers went out again on the TV. We haven't bother calling anyone becuase last time they were not much help. Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this issue?

Did you fix your problem? If so, how?

I am having the same problem and at times it tells me my lamp is bad, which I know it is not because that is new.

Any ideas?

if it is built into the motherboard you cannot change it wthout changing the motherboard.
I assume you are using Windows (prob Vista on machine age)
go to the control panel - sounds and run the test - sometimes that fixes sound issues
if not uninstall the driver and let windows find the hardware and re-install it.
Let me know if you are still having problems.

SA HE200 ~ Overload at power up

First of, be sure volume is turned all the way down before or as you are powering it it.
Second if that does not work disconnect all speaker, and input/outputs.  Power the device on and see if it says overload.
If it does skip the rest of these steps, your capacitors are bad or the power supply is no longer functioning correctly.
If it doesnt, start with testing each speaker at power up.  Match the speaker to the output it goes on, power the device see if it says it.
If it does on any speaker test it is a speaker issue or a terminal issue.  To test for terminal or speaker issue plug a different/ known to work speaker in that same terminal, if it doesnt say overload it is a speaker issue, if it does say overload it is a terminal issue.
Once you have made sure all speakers and terminals work correctly start plugging input and outputs in and test individually.

Speakers have died?

Probaby the stereo decoder IC went bad or a supply voltage to it is too low or noisy. If it has audio output jacks on the back of the TV, connect it to an external amplifier and see what that sounds like. If it is ok in stereo or mono mode then the amplifier in the TV is bad. This will prove that the stereo decoder is ok.
