Hi, I have a asus VW192DR lcd monitor but it cannot open properly, only mixed colors, is there any chance that i can fix it on my own? pls help.

There is a good chance the power supply board has one or two capacitors that are open,"they often bulge at the top" making it easier to spot, replacement of parts only option.

The picture board on your monitor is bad, since the lines are causing visual display, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself. in other not to complicate issues.

I did some research and I found this link that will should you the schematic of the LCD technology,It sounds like one of you LCD color ships is not working properly,your TV has 3 ships (BLUE,GREEN,RED)

what video card are you using? normally you will not need a driver for a monitor.
does your video card support the lowest resolution the monitor you brought?

Does it occassionally turn on or does not turn on at all? I advise that you try a hard-reset(disconnect completely from power supply for about 2 hours). If it doesn't work then you will have to get a replacement inverter board.Let me know how it turns up so that i can assist you further. Thanks for using Fixya.

Hi, If no indicator lights, no reaction when push the power on button, then chances are that you have a power supply problem. If your particular brand/model has a built-in power supply then it has to be opened up and diagnose. Normally most units would show a light indicator by simply plugging it into an outlet. That light changes color or another one lites up when the power on button is pressed. Absence of the first light indicator means that the system is not getting any power at all. You would be better off seeking the services of a qualified professional. But then again, it just might be the power cord which is of course relatively easy to replace. Try using your computers cord first for the monitor if it fits and matches. Hopes this work out for you and give you an idea or two. Pls post again how things turn up. Good luck and kind regards.
