How to use the self clean feature on a tefal steam iron

We are getting bad brown stains when using the steam iron. We do not know how to use the self clean feature. Have tried but have lost the manual. Bought some anti scale mixture to use but it said on the instructions not to use on a Tefal iron. So did not use.
P;leae can you help.

Tefal Gv8110 Steam Generator Iron no Steam

follow this steps. God bless you
If the iron does not spray properly, inspect and clean the nozzle (see below).
If the iron leaks or spits, clean the steam vents, nozzle, and tank.
If the iron sticks to fabric, clean or repair the soleplate. If the iron stains fabric, clean the soleplate, clean the tank with a commercial cleaner, and use distilled or filtered water.

How do I clean the water reservoir in my T-FAL Avantis 90 iron. When I use the iron hard particles come out of the steam holes.

Hi, Brown water and whitescale are often the result of the water you use in the iron... If you have scale, white vinegar will clean that... For brown water, empty the iron, rinse out the insides with bottled water, and then use the bottled water instead...

I get lots of brown stained clothes when i use my tefal steam generator iron have tried to de-scale it using the hose and then using 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water and it still keeps happening anyone...

Ok. sounds like you have lots of iron( Fe) in your water. You must always use only distilled water in the unit or you will get stains and eventual failure of the unit. The other possibility is contamination of the ironing surface or ironing spray product. 250 Pounds is the most expensive iron I have ever heard of outside of a commercial model,so it would certainly be worth taking to a shop for checking if nothing else works. Why does my Tefal Pro express stain my ironing with brown marks and scale, I fill the tank with softened household water, but I still get a sudden gush of brown scale water. We live in a very hard water...

Its a real pain, but use only distilled water.

Fill your iron with white vinegar and let it steam until empty.. face down on a towel on lowest steam setting.

Tefal express iron cleaning

Thankfully I was able to clean the boiler compartment, by unscrewing the large bolt on the boiler, cleaned with water only, loads of brown yuck came out, It would then not allow me to use the steamer, Waited until the next morning tried again and working brilliantly again.

Hi, My Tefal Express Steam Iron is not working. The steam will not work and brown water is pouring out the bottom of the iron. I need to know where I should get this repaired in Inner West...

Do you use any additive to the water when you iron?
Do you empty the water out after use ?
Brown steam / water suggests foul water, or rust due to dirty water pipes on Iron.

With regards to 'not working' - do you have any lights on, or is it dead.
(I had one of these, the mains lead within the flex holder had broken - design flaw) - managed to repair.
