I have a crossfire vr2000d it plays at really low volume and sounds distorted. when i try to turn it up it goes into protection mode. i check the subwoofer and wires and they are all good. i put another amp in place of the vr2000d and it works fine. its this amp still repairable?
Either blown transistors, caps, or random chip... i would try to contact a PCB board rebuilding company or contact a local radio shack and see if they can point you to a board fix it guy.

Well my buddy gave me his Type RFX7 amp out of his car. I knew it was blown but I figured i could just re-solder a dead connection and make it work. Took the amp apart everything looks pretty much fine see some hot spots but i figure that normal the amp puts out 1895 watts RMS. The thing is it powers up puts out a real poor qaulity sound then goes into protect mode. Can't figure it out any body have any tips I have a DVOM and would really like to get this thing in my car before summer. If possible where would a get layout of what transistor does what. Thanks in advance for any help with this matter.
