As i turn on the power to my computer the monitor will not show a picture. i tried to turn the monitor on and off and all it does is show that it is in power save more then the green light will go to amber then stay that way the time my computer boots up. is there anything that will get my monitor out of that mode and start correctly?
Your monitor goes to Power Saving Mode when the signal it is receiving is not correct.
In all probability this is not a problem of the monitor itself, rather you should check the connections and the computer the monitor it's connected to. For example you could try a different RGB cable and try it in a different computer.

Hook a spare monitor to the computer, if the same symptoms occur the problem is the Video Graphics Card in the computer, but if the picture is okay, it is clearly the LG Flatron that has the problem, and if possible sub the video cord from the computer to the monitor just to be sure.
If you have a problem getting into safe mode using windows Vista or 7, boot up your computer. As soon as it tries to start windows turn off the power. When you try to start it again it should come up with a menu asking if you want to use safe mode or boot normally. Select safe mode.
the monitor is working ok if it goes to safe mode with no input.which do you turn on first?(to work out which could be faulty)It is most likely that the monitor data cable is the fault(at either end) or the PC m'bd disp skt,try pluging an add on disp'card in to the PC. Regards Chook.
