Pull the hose out (leave the cap on) find a low tray and place the end of the tube in it. Take the cap off and water will drain from the filter, so that you don't get a mini flood when opening the filter housing if it got blocked.

Water leaks past the water pump filter gasket reseating the filter does not stop the leaking lg tromm Front Loading Washer

I regularly clean my filter of slime and debris (after not even realizing this needed to be done and having my pump give out of me). TWICE I have awoken to a flooded basement due to leaks in the filter area:

The first time, the plastic stopper was not in the small rubber drain hose properly and had popped off.

The second time, I had cleaned the gasket, inserted it tightly like I always do, and awoke to another flood! I thought perhaps the rubber gasket on the filter was on wrong, but it was fine. I inserted it tightly several times and water still poured out! It turns out there was a small stone lodged in the thread of the receiving end of the filter causing there to be a bad seal. Lesson learned. Another $2000.00 worth of flooring ruined.

Water is leaking from the bottom and does not discharge from drain hose

Part of the problem is that your filter is clogged. Remove the front bottom panel by unscrewing 3 small screws at the base. At the lower right, there is a filter cap that you need to unscrew by hand. Be sure to put a small pail before you unscrew it because a lot of water will come out. Then clean the filter and screw it back in.

In terms of the leaking, that started with my washer just recently. It's not the filter....think it's the rubber seal in the front. If you pull back the rubber, there are small drainage holes that can get clogged. Cleaning helps, but doesn't solve it.

LG 2455 washer - error OE but filters are clean..

check to see if you have a kink or, obstruction in your drain hose; hot wash the drain hose with 1/2 cup of hot vinegar

I have a vrt ... I hope this helps.... Take of that little door on the front. Have a bucket or bowl ready. Bring down that little black hose, turn the white cap around and pull till it comes off. Drain into the bowl, turn the white filter cap counter clockwise to release some of the suction and wait till the hose stops draining. Remove cap, clean under running water w/ toothbrush. Manual says to make sure that the interior is free of anything (I wiped mine out) and then put it all back together again. Good luck

Smelly wash

it is a known problem that this machine has. There is a some what strange solution for it. First check if your machine is level. This normally happens with machines which are not level. Clean out your filter located at the front. Open the door. get a container and pull the white cap of the black hose and empty the water out. Clean the filter after all water is gone. If this does not fix it:
Clean it out as before. put filter back. get with garden hose or bucket water in your machine through the door opening. Pull the little white cap of and let it run out. Do this again for 2 times.
Now put some bleach in your machine in the soap dispenser and let it run the spin and rinse cycle. It should be gone or at least way better.
