check you batteries in the remote. on the tv front panel button right lower run your hand long the bottom of tv it should turn on, then go to settings sync devices , than turn off tv try remote again should work.
poke it open, you'll find bloated capacitors at power supply board. biggest one, with power cord pluged into. replace with thesame value(s).
you good to go!
don't lie, next time! your set has been acting up fpr a while, before it quit. Remembering: few attempts to turn it on, then it works!
good luck.
Right now I believe the TV is in " Protection Mode ". Try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 minutes, that way the TV can reset itself. If that doesn't work, most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. The most common thing to go out is the circuit board that supply power to the screen. Commonly called a backlight Inverter Board. But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route. If not under warranty and If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15.
could be power supply problem or high voltage problem. check caps in main power supply first.look for caps that have tops puffed up ususlly three or four.....
Does the sound not work either? If it does then the backlight in your lcd screen has went out and your better off buying a new one because it is more than the tv is worth to fix it. Just start running through the imputs with about a 5 second pause between as this tv takes a few seconds to switch imputs and make sure you have cable or something connected to it the imput button is the second one down from the power button on the bottom right side of the tv. But if you dont have sound and it just seems completly dead most likely it probly got hit by lightning and slowly quit. Or maby you need to just buy a power supply if you dont see the green light anymore. Worst case senario your tv just got up and quit or maby it burned it self up from getting to hot. You can get a power supply on ebay for as cheap as 34.99. Hope this helps.
Hi Bismi,
my PV-DM2792 behaves for last four days in the same way - double clicks when power button is depressed and the light PROG is flashing every second continously. I have called to the Panasonic customer service and they could not propose a solution to this problem other than contact an authorized dealer in my area.
