'42 Magnavox television won't show picture

It turns on then starts clicking like I'm turning it off & on - yet stays ON. No picture, no sound.

Turn Plasma on green light comes on makes click sound as if everything is ok but won't show picture or sound.

Relays clicking noise you hear.....change caps..you might see visible signs of CAPs being bad....swolen,,, top ready to explode etc.

42' plasma magnavox model # 42MF230A has no picture and no sound

I had the same problem with an Insignia 42" 1080p. Turn off the tv power and disconnect all cables (i started with power cable, then HD cables then HDMI). Wait 30 seconds with nothing plugged in, then I plugged everything back in (in reverse order) and it works fine.

'42 Magnavox television won't show picture

I had the a similar issue. But on mine the first symptoms I had was that the screen would shrink and then expand over and over. After thrity minutes it would correct itself.

After a few months of doing this it just broke - no sound and no video but the power light was still on.

I gave up and called in a repair tech. He fixed my TV in less than 30 minutes . I put together a how to guide and parts kit to help others solve the same problem. Not sure if it will work for you - my set never made the clicking sound - but it may be the same issue. http://www.magnavoxhelp.com
