Question about HP z558 (EG652AA) PC Desktop
The system will accecpt 4GB of memory, right! Not so! After attemping to install 4 sticks of PC3200 DDR 400HMz The system would not get past the windows start up screen. What's up with that?I made sure i was the proper memory,But No this is not the case. After two hour on line with HP support they said that, that motherboard was specialy tweeked by ASUS and that if I Put more memory than that in it,it would burn the motherboard out.And there in voiding my one year warrenty.Does any one know an thing about this situation? Please let me know! Thank You All! GOD Bless! ajbville
What Asus sometimes do with their motherboards is say it can support upto a certain amount of memory, but you have to use different speeds, eg you cannot use all at PC3200, why this is I don't know. If you are able also try setting the bus speed to something like 333MHZ then installing memory(refer to asus manual) But remember you void the warranty if not fitting recommended spec of memory, i would e mail ASUS because your kit is not cheap to replace.
