What does the shoprider wispa charger interface board actually do

The pcb has a jack plug socket soldered to it. Most chargers now seem to have "neutrix" plugs and ones with jack plugs are rare as hens teeth and very expensive! If I use a 3 stage charger can I bypass the pcb and fit a neutrix socket? I'm assuming that the "interface" board is basically fulfilling the function of voltage control and switching function that the 2 (or 3) stage chargers already have.

SOURCE: I needto replace the battery charger on my Rascal 600F scooter

Hi. Most chargers with only two wires, have a small bridge wire from the
black ( negative ) wire to the middle terminal of the connector. This disables the controller while the machine is charging. The charger will still work without this bridge wire, but the scooter will still operate normally.
There are a few different chargers around that have an internal relay that disables the scooter, but these chargers are normally "on-board" chargers.
Good luck. Neil.

The batteries are weak - either they are worn out or they are defective. They will have to be replaced.

My tablet will not turn on

Try plugging it into the charger for a few minutes and turn it on with the charger plugged in, if it still does not turn on ensure the charger is ok, if so the battery may be fully discharged and may need replacing. if the battery and charger are both fine, check contacts to the battery and pcb as well as charging socket. if all ok there is an issue with the board.

My samsung laptop charger gets hot and starts to melt when pluged in and powered up and does the same if i take the battery out please helptried a new battery and new charger could it be the jack on the...

I'm unclear however
Does the new charger get too hot? If so the problem is not the charger or the socket.
Does the laptop work with the new charger plugged in but no battery? If so the socket on the laptop is probably ok
Is the actual charger melting or is it just the plug that goes in the laptop that's getting hot, if it is the plug on both chargers then the socket will need repairing or resoldering, they are a weak point, the soldered pins go high resistance and can generate a lot of heat around the plug and socket. Its usually obvious if the socket is faulty because as you move the plug it makes contact intermittently.
DONT USE THE CHARGER THAT'S MELTING and if both are getting hot have the socket repaired.
If only the one charger getting hot the short is probably in the plug on that charger but read on
On a different note the genuine chargers should be over current protected and overheat protected, they should never melt.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525, I purchased a new battery and a new charger and I still getting the message that it's plugged in but not charging. What could be the problem?

Your problem is that the power jack in your actual laptop is loose. it may not seem like it is but one of the 3 connections (positive, negitive, data) that hold the jack to the board broke. In this case its the data connection that tells the laptop what kind of adapter is plugged in, and dell laptops wont charge without knowing that. Solution- 1.Pay someone to replace the power jack 2. If you can solder, by a new jack (around $5) and disassemble the laptop and replace it yourself.

Fixing DC Jack for Toshiba Satellite L35 cost how

I believe the L35 uses what is considered a satellite power jack which means the actual jack is not soldered to the motherboard but uses a cable and plug, therefore is the easiest of the power jack repairs. The cable can be found on ebay for around 30 bucks or less. I usually charge 50 bucks for the labor plus the part, the laptop has to be disassembled to complete the repair. Below is a link for disassembly if you want to use it as a reference and perfrom the work yourself.....

My laptop charger is not working period but its not the charger its the computer

Elaborate a little more on why you don't think it is the charger? Did you test the voltage at the tip or did you test the charger on another HP device that needs 19 volts to run properly? Just remember a laptop can run with less wattage but not less voltage. I will tell you though that DV4000's are known to have power jack issues and that the jack is soldered directly onto the motherboard. They are not easy to replace because of the amount of "legs" they use to attach to the motherboard. Because of this there are issues with broken solder points on one or more of the legs. Sometimes these can be resoldered instead of having to try and remove the jack. Just heat up the solder and let it flow back over the joint and hopefully that make contact. The other issue with their jack is the solder point at the center pin breaks and the tension band inside the housing tends to lose its tension and will no longer hold the charger plug in place. Last but not least, the power circuit on the motherboard itself has been unreliable at best, if that fails, just replace the motherboard. Good luck to you.

Motorola krzr won't recharge.

The charger socket is soldered directly to the main board - if it's just the solder joints that have cracked, then a decently equipped mobile phone repair place should be able to resolder it - if it's actually ripped the copper traces off the board, then it's not really practical to repair it.

Since I happened to have a K1 in bits, here is a photo of the connector - it's normally attached quite firmly to the main PCB.

New charger but no ac power to pc

A common problem is for the power jack connections on the system board to go bad. They break loose from the main board because the power plug gets flexed and then the power doesn't get from the adapter to the board. No power light (or intermittent flickering) and no battery charging results.

What you need to do (or have done) is to resolder the power jack onto the board. This isn't difficult, but it involves getting the main board out to reach the solder side. In some cases the board can be damaged because of the bad connections and isn't repairable. Then the board needs to be replaced. But most often the soldering fixes the trouble.

Power suppy

Seeing how the AC Power Cord Plug Snapped, It probably loosened the pins on the DC Power Jack (located on the motherboard...)....and you are shorting out from loose contacts on the DC Jack...
The DC PowerJack Will either have to be desoldered and cleaned then Resoldered.....
Or Purchase a New DC Jack and Replace With Old By Desoldering and soldering New in Place....

And of course.. get yourself a new charging cord, or go to radio shack and buy a new plug tip and reattach it to your Power Charger Cord End....

Hope that helps..

Charge Socket

Bought a faulty F20 off EBAY with a broken USB socket.

It seems like a common failure mode.

The one I had had sheared directly of the internal board and their was no PCB track left for re soldering.

I eventually managed to repair the unit by buying a new socket and attaching fine wires which were hard wired to other parts of the PCB then using epoxy glue to refasten the socket. I would consider it a difficult and advanced repair. (Its like micro PCB surgery)

Opening the case is relatively easy. Remove the screws and then use something like a blunt table knife to gently slide between the two case halves until they part bit by bit.

Hope this is of some help.
