Whirlpool fridge I have a whirlpool fridge s21s4d and the solenoid for the water dispenser is repeatedly pulling in and out even when not in use. It stops for a short time if we turn the fridge off and on again. Any ideas greatly appreciated thanks

Bad wiring or faulty sensor would cause the relay to be activated and tell the solonoid to open whenever it likes. I would replace the door switch or see if it is sticking otherwise you may be looking at control board problems

SOURCE: water dispenser not working on Whirlpool mod ED25COXFW01

Tryusing an hairdryer or defrosting the unit completely , this often getrid of blockage caused by frozen lines fixing the problem.

The water lines can also be unblocked from dirt using a thin flexible shaft. This after defrosting.

If all that does not fix the problem, then you may need to replace thewater valve, the dispenser solenoid, or the whole dispenser assembly.

Whirlpool refrigerator , water not dispensing ??

Pull out the fridge and check the water line. Do you still have ice?
If you have water at the solenoid ( this is a double solenoid, one for the ice one for the water).
Try to dispense water, you should hear some nose from the solenoid.
If you hear nothing, then probably the switch at the door.
You power directly the solenoid if you are familiar with electricity, if not then please do not touch.
Hope you can solve the problem.
Good luck

Water dispenser not working on my whirlpool american fridge freezer ? Changed filter a week ago, is switched on but no water coming out of dispenser?

Make sure that the water filter is the right one and that it is pushed all the way in. If that is correct than There should be two solenoids located behind the fridge at the bottom one is for your ice and one for water. Unplug unit and test with an ohm meter across the two terminals if it ohms out or beeps than your solenoid is bad. If that is not it than there is a switch problem at the door.

The water dispenser has stopped working!!!

could be a water solenoid problem (at the back portion where water from the sink enters ), or a micro switch in the dispenser area problem.

also, check if u have a water filter. could be clogged already.

Whirlpool Dispenser Problems

it is possible that the water line has frozen, but I would venture to guess that it is most likely the water inlet valve. Both can be accessed by removing the back panel on the back of the fridge down at the bottom.
