Panasonic aj-d400 turns on but does not do anything after that
Hi I have a problem with my aj-d400.
I can turn on the camera with the switch but nothing seems to work.. the lens part works perfectly.
I cannot even switch off the camera with the on/off switch..
nor the recorder nor the camera reacts on anything with the switches. To switch off I need to remove the battery.
the menu does not work either, even if i change the settings by pressing buttons it would not show any change on the display.
can anyone help me out on this problem??? thanking you all in advance for your precious time.

While you are turning the camera on, hold the lever which you use for zooming in. The lens should extend before you get the annoying message about turning the the camera off and on. Then, gently apply pressure to the lens as if you wanted to push it back to the camera. While you are doing this, turn the camera off (lens should come back into the body of the camera). This will solve your problem.
Partially open sounds like a mechanical problem with the cassette housing/door assembly. The door usually stays fully open or will not open at all, caused by component failure on the mechanical driver board. Check to make sure nothing is stuck in the mechanism, like a label or a broken piece from a cassette. If the door will move, but will not latch closed, the problem is most likely on th emechanical driver board.
E-62 error on AJ-D250 points to a cassette housing problem. either replace the cassette housing or have it rebuilt (replace gears on the sides that raise and lower the cassette). "replace belts" won't work - the AJ-D250 doesn't have any belts.
