Question about Hitachi 43UWX10B 43" Rear Projection Television

Hitachi Rear Projection-Lines on Screen

I turned my Hitachi Rear Projection TV on the other day and there were 3 vertical lines on the screen. There is one in the middle and two on each side. They start at the bottom and go about half way up the screen. I was wondering if anyone knew of something I could do before bringing in professional help. Thanks

My Hitachi CT4533K Rear Projection TV only shows white lines.

Its a older set---look on front for the button for the convergence feature--if it got pressed the cross will appear--it is for aligning the basic convergence of the middle of the screen.

I have 5 thin vertical white lines on the screen sound is fine.

It looks like the problem is comming from your LCD chips, they are starting to burn out and that is why you get this lines across your tv set, if you leave it like that the problem is only going to get worst
the lines will get bigger until it finally covers your whole screen you need to replace the OPTICAL BLOCK to fix this problem

This is a convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors.Shops usually charge from $200-$300

Vertical problem coming from bad solder, or vertical circuit problems!!!
Check for bad solder and capacitors problems in vertical circuit.

Is it a clean vertical line or a fuzzy vertical line? It could be as simple as a cleaning.

We also have vertical lines with our JVC 62"... turning it off and letting it cool down is the only solution. For us, we know it's a problem with heat. We simply are wits end on fixing it. added two additional fans, a exterior fan to blow heat away from the back of the tv, pulled everything else away, etc.... Anyway, goodluck.
