Teac 6010 reel to reel makes static when not playing.

These units are old enough to need new electrolytic capacitors installed in them. I have seen wind like sounds and frying eggs type sound that are all resolved by a new set of caps. These things are from the Vietnam war era and when I was at Teac in the 80's they were considered old then.

My Teac Set Top Box HBD841 has stalled. It was on standby, all that I could get was 'Good' on the front display panel with no picture or sound on the TV, none of the buttons on the remote works.??

That is a common fault with that unit.
You will need to buy a new set top box as the cost of repair makes repair uneconomic.

Looking for spare remote control,or universal remote that would be suitable.

go to e-bay and search for remote for teac cr-h255
you will probably get new ones or 2nd hand units

Record button wont press down

Hi,

Record button can be pressed down only if you placed a cassette into the deck and if this cassette was not protected against recording. This protection is mechanical, and can be found at the top of the cassette. One for the A-side and another one for B-side.

TEAC A-2340SX simulsync reel to reel needs physical repair. I don't have questions about the unit. I just need help finding a reputable service provider as close as possible to Cherry Hill, NJ.

check fixya directory it might help.or you will have to buy a new one those things are out dated. good luck.

Is the Teac RW-H300 a unit that can be repaired easily?

It would depend on a zillion things. Only a hands-on technician could answer it. Diagnosis and Labor costs can be open-ended.

Typically, modern electronics is not economically repairable. At $355 on Amazon for a new one, it could easily be cheaper to replace than repair.

the answer is "YES". You can replace the laser (lens), that's the only option you have left since cleaning the laser (lens) did not solve the problem. This shows that the laser (lens) is dead. You need a brand new one.

So go ahead and replace the laser unit, its a very good idea.

My PVR a TEAC HDR1600T is jumping with recived singnal.

the hard disk gets very very hot, I suggest you switch it off when not in use and reformat once in a while. I think the cpu (some motorola or something) isn't particularly fast as it can only handle so much at the same time as well.

Teac W-505R left deck not functioning

possible that the drive belt has broken or is slipping. Disable all outside noise and listen closely as you attempt play or fast forward button. can you hear a motor turning? I have replaced a drive belt in these but may be hard to find except maybe on ebay (search for an as-is unti for parts only).

It is a Dual cassette which is one mark against it and it is a light weigh deck. These were made for profit purposes not for a long lasting cassette deck. As I have said from the day they came out stay away from Dual cassettes as they are nothing but junk and you are getting this info from a repair technician of 40 years that has mainly worked on tape deck. I also worked at Teac Factory Service in Arlington Heights where I got to the rank of Lead Technician.
You want a good deck- V900X, V1RX, C-3RX, Z6000, V2RX are some that come to mind Tascam 122B is another.
