When I turn my Mitsubishi WS-55809 on the screen will turn have a pink overlay. You can see the picture but it has a pink color to it. After it stays on for a while it goes away. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
"If the color jumps in after warming up, it could be a bad solder connection." This is exactly what happens. It's been on for about 5 hrs and it hasn't happened since. Is this something that I can possible fix or/and will it just get worst?

Re: Screen turning pink
If the pink overlay goes away gradually, you could have weak picture tubes (CRT's) If the color jumps in after warming up, it could be a bad solder connection. If you haven't had a good picture to watch for a long time, I would be tempted to put the money towards a new HDTV set as those older Mitsubishi Rear Projection TV's had a Lot of bad solder connections in the past, and by fixing one problem another could crop up in the near future.

Problem is likely on the small circuit board that plugs onto the bottom of the red picture tube---be careful as dangerous voltages in and around that board---each of the three picture tubes has a small board that plugs on the end of the tube.
Someone with moderate experience would have to examine the red crt printed circuit board--I have seen some of these that develop a cracked ground path on that board but usually it is pink except on the sides depending which ground path is bad.
