I WOULD LIKE TO TRANSFER VIDEO FOOTAGE FROM MY digital video camcorder pal mv800 mINI dv 400X Digital zoom 20x to my lap top but i have not got the cord for this.Nor do i know what it is called.please please please help me out
First thing, clean your battery contacts, both on the battery, and on the camcorder. Make sure the battery is charged fully (measure it if you have a voltmeter). Make sure your power adapter is putting out voltage (again, measure it if you can) Try a spare battery, if you have one, to make sure the first one isn't just dead. Other than those things, you could have a faulty or broken power switch on the unit. That's about all I can think of offhand.
I´ve had same trouble, nothing help me to get tape on, then I tried to recharge the battery (new spare battery, only had 2 earlier charge) and voilá, it work´s again. So there was somekind of trouble with the new battery I got, that is not original part I don´t know if that matters,
Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if the camcorder will not turn on.
IMPORTANT: If model-specific information is required to complete any of the steps in this solution, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product. Manuals are available online in the Manuals/Specs/Warranty section of the Sony eSupport Web site.
Remove the battery from the camcorder.
Connect the AC power adapter to the camcorder.
Plug the AC power adapter into a working electrical outlet.
Camcorder has charging circuit but it could go defective. The repair would be costly so in this situation, you can purchase stand-along battery charger for around $20 and charge the batteries independently. Make sure all the contacts are cleaned and camcorder is working with direct ac adapter. Good luck -James. for furnter assistance by email, go to www.camerarepairjapan.com
