If the file is corrupt, then it will skip until it finds one that it can play. I had this on some songs I ripped from a scratched up CD. At a certain point, the files are not clear enough for the iPod/iTunes, and will be skipped. This can also happen if you've unplugged without ejecting the iPod first while you were transferring music. I would recommend either playing a different song, or if it is doing it to all of them, put the iPod into DFU mode. You should be able to google that and have no problem with it. It will wipe your iPod, however.
Do you mean it plays a few seconds then skips onto the next song? If that is the case then most likely you have "Intro" play set which only plays a few seconds as a introduction then skips to the next time.
To fix this, during music playback, press the [menu] button, then there should be an option there to change it from "Intro" to "NORMAL" instead.
We could try formatting the player and after the format has been complete try updating the firmware of the player. Change the settings fo the player to MSC then connect to your computer, open my computer and right-click the player and choose format remove the tick mark on the quick format and after the format has been completed. Unplug the device and go to the sandisk website and download the firmware update and install it and when it ask you to connect the device hook the plyer and perform the update for the player. Note: It may be the songs on the player are not that properly transferred that why it is skipping and also the player might also have had bad sectors that is why we have formatted the player. Hope this helps.
MP3 players i have seen so far are only able to play WMA,Wav,MP3 files.
Other files are skipped. Also, there arent many MP3 devices that can play DRM protected Files. Your might be it.
