Camcorder ejecting tape on its own

Hi, I am having trouble with my camcorder ejecting. Even if there is no tape in the camcorder, it will open on its own as if it is ejecting the tape. Can you help me with this please? I need to get some videos from my tapes to my computer, but I need to get this think working first. Thank you so much for your help. mctld

SOURCE: loading tapes

Hello, exact same problem here, closes fine when no tape inserted, but with a tape, the camera won't close, just keeps ejecting the tape.
Another problem that I encountered is that the camera will not take pictures anymore.
When I press the button, it beeps, but there appears a green dot on the screen,
My handbook tells me, when this dot appears on the screen, this means he camera will not take a picture, it however doesn't tell me how to solve the problem.

You need your CAM into Sony or service center Sony to repair it the error code is indicated the LS chassis assembly faulty or loading motor faulty it require a lot of work mechanis and electronics it may not worth to repair it. It would cost between $150 to $250 in AUS

SOURCE: I have a Sony DCR-TRV250 Digital Handycam

I got the tape to eject by removing the battery from the camcorder, putting it back on so that the tape would go back inside the camera. Then I had the tape eject again. Several times the tape would not be ejected but I repeated my steps until the camera released the tape.

Tape mechanism problems are quite complicated but they can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be diagnosed by a qualified service technician.

GL2 - Tape gets jammed everytime. Eject lights up immediately

This problem is usually related to the Dew Sensor, Unfortunately you can not by-pass the dew sensor. I paid a repair to fix, but he could not. Canon must repair the dew sensor.
I have same prob. I just capture directly to computer since my tape will not open. I would be interested in buying cameras like this, i can use them to still monitor images.

Have a jvc camcorder turn on and it says safe mode remove battery

Forget the battery, the mini dv carrage assy can get out of sync and initiate the safe mode, if you noticed a problem loading the tape or have heard a gear skip sound thats the problem. The best you can do with those camcorders is keep the tape in the camcorder!!!!! That will prevent the problem and insure many good years of recording.

Sorry,

Tim.

Tape eject door will open but tape will not eject

got door open and looked in and saw what looked like the tape head sitting very slightly proud of tape and believe it or not inserted a very thin and pointy bladed knife up as far as the head then pressed it down on top of the head very lightly and the head slid down its shaft to its original position switched camcorder back on and tape then ejected as per normal and it has worked normally since and as i did'nt touch the head (face?) no damage was done and it can record and play with no problems, a little unorthodox perhaps but it worked for me and saved me a probable fortune

Removing dv cassettes manually

open the unit and look for a small motor that ejects the tape through a series of mechanical gears, slides and hinges. Now turn this motor by hand.
