Unable to install Lumix digital camera software using Vista

I wonder if someone can help me please. I have just bought a Lumix FX500 camera, which I’m very happy with, but I’m unable to install the supplied software. The CD-Rom should contain PHOTOfunSTUDIO 2.0e and ArcSoft software suite, however none of applications are recognised on my PC. There is no autostart menu and none of the files are recognised whatsoever. I’m using Vista Home Premium OS which according to the manual should be fine. I’ve tried installing the software on my work PC (XP pro OS) and this works fine- you get the set-up menu etc. I’ve contacted Lumix and they said it must be my PC. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Alan.

First do a clean uninstall with the Windows Installer Clean up utility, after you remove the programs from your add/remove menu.
Then try inserting the cd, and going to explore it manually, look for a setup file that says vista on it, try installing that way.

Hope this might jump start the fix, I don't have vista =S

Panasonic lumix camera fz20eb unable to upload pics to toshiba laptop with windows vista

You should be upload pictures using a USB cable even if you do not have the additional sofware. Once you plugged in your camera, it may take a few minutes for the computer to register a new device and you should be able to view pictures using the Vista popup or in my computer from the "new device"

Installation for LUMIX DMC-LS2

The Arcsoft software that comes with most, if not all, Panasonic cameras is available as a trial download on the internet. The free version is only available on the disk that came with the camera. However, if you are using Windows XP (or maybe even Vista) you can use a free photo edit/organizer program such as Google's Picasa. As long as your computer recognizes the camera when connected, you can use most any software. If this doesn't work, you can try using a usb card reader and removing the card from your camera and accessing your images that way.

Picasa

Hope this helps.
