Hi. I have a problem with my computer recognising my pentax optio 430. it worked fine, but no longer. I've deleted and reinstalled the correct driver for the camera and the Device Manager trouble shooter says that everything is fine. I've tried the camera on a different computer and it's OK except that for both computers, in Windows Explorer the camera is recognised wrongly (labelled) as a Toshiba 256M which is my hard drive back-up that I use through the same USB. Any ideas? It's driving me nuts. thanks
I have had problems with my Pentax as well, it worked fine but when I tired to down load the pictures suddenly after reading justfine it indicated that the info could not be read....and I have not been able to use it well since. I did see the pictures, as did my husband on a computer at work. We are able to take pictures and have even had them printed to a disc which appeared fine at the photo lab but at home the pix are half gray. Photos appear to be fine on the camera but when trying to print or view nothing comes out.

Bassie - did you resolve this? My computer recognizes the camera just fine. I have photos on my card but when I try to download to my computer, I don't see any photos. I've emailed Pentax several times w/ no help to this problem. Do you have automatic MS updates set on your machine? What Virus protection do you have? I've run into problems w/ another program conflicting w/ virus protection software.
