After installing new chip based cartridge on printronix , the printer displays unknown cartridge install new cartridge Details the new cartridge is original with a chip embedded below the cartridge. but still the printer is not able to detect the new original cartridge. showing the "unknown cartridge install new cartridge" but the old cartridge came with the printer is working and showing 17% ribbon life.therefore please advice how rest the new original chip based cartridge printronix p-7005 printer.

SOURCE: GAP NOT DETECTED ERROR ON PRINTRONIX T5000 PSN

My label printer quit printing the barcodes on the labels.

I am just getting a series of lines.

I have tried unplugging the machine and still have the same result.

I have tried to calibrate but that is not working either.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I believe you have this setting incorrect: the MFRTYPMDL should be *IBM6400EP. That is because you want the AS400 to send out plain old ASCII to our printer. It is an ASCII printer and not a HP. The codes are different.

Printer given barcode missing install new ribbon
There are two styles of P7000 a spool ribbon style and a cartridge ribbon style. You are getting a barcode error then your printer is looking for a ribbon spool not a ribbon cartridge.

Cartridge Ribbon:

Crtg missing instal new ribbon printronix p7005

This error message normally happen due to following reasons..
1. Didn't remove protective tape on cartridge.
2. Didn't properly seat cartridge.
3. Contacts on carriage need to be cleaned.
4.If you inserted and removed Cartridge many times..


Try to do it: You can wipe the copper contact plate on the cartridge over with a slightly damp piece of kitchen towel using distilled water. While doing this you need to turn off your comp and printer. Let the contact plate dry for a minute or two before putting back on.

After inserting the cartridge, run the print head cleaning program 3 to 4 times for best results as this will clean the heads and push the ink through.

Magenta cartridge leaked for some unknown reason. when we replaced it, it says the new cartridge is empty. Please help.
Hi

My friend the cartridge which leaked earlier has spilled ink in side on the contacts of the printer where the smart chip comes in contact. Try to clean well with a tissue paper and try to insert slowly into the printer and this will solve the problem.

If not then carefully remove the smart chip from the old one and replace it with the new and install back in the printer.

Replaced black ink cartridge and printer keeps asking to replace
The message that persists in saying to "replace black cartridge" could be due to a defective cartridge chip. The chip maintains counts and tells the printer when a new cartridge is installed. If you cartridge is remanufactured, they may have neglected to install a new chip.

Regarding the new fuser not working, I'll have to get back to you on that.

Installed #8 M(magenta ink cartridge) New ink tank.
The problem can be one of the following:

  1. You have a faulty cartridge chip (return to purchaser and request a replacement)

  2. The chip is soiled (ink or similar is causing the connection to fail) so try cleaning the chip

  3. The chip is not properly mounted on the cartridge (maybe skewed slightly or similar). If so try straightening out carefully and then re-inserting.

Canon have been known to send out cartridges with bad chips so you should contact them if you bought a proper one and they'll sort you out.

Replaced HP LaserJet 2840 catridges and now [?][?][?][?] ! error
The OEM cartridges have a chip on them. If the aftermarket supplies do not have the right chip, missing a chip, etc., the machine will not recognize. Placing the old cartridge back in without any toner can give off the same message.

Try rebooting the printer without a cartridge in. Then install the cartridge, either one, and see if that helps. If not, wait for the OEM to arrive.

Epsom stylus CX4700 won't print - new ink cartridges installed
They cut costs on Epson compatible cartridges by using low quality ink and chips or not resetting the chips at all. Sounds like you got cartridges that the chips were not reset on so your printer thinks all the cartridges are empty. I own a Cartridge World ink refilling store and I would never recommend purchasing compatible Epson cartridges from anyone. I would buy refills of Epson brand cartridges and make sure the seller reset the chips.

Memory error
Just do 2 steps:

1. Press Stop.
2. If the display highlight "Resume". Press the OK (Check Button).

The display will tell you that a Non-HP Cartridge is installed and Economode is Disabled.
At least, you can now print. The display will show back again to "Ready".
