Firmware upgrade I've contacted my ISP about a firmware update since everything I've read says it's not owner upgradeable. My ISP refuses to upgrade or do anything but tell me I need to lease one of their modems. Is there a third party firmware upgrade or a way to get it from Motorola? I need version 3.3.1.0-GA-09-058-NOSH any suggestions?
The ISP is correct in telling you not owner upgradeable. Only because the upgrade is their property. The firmware is coded for their cable lines to distribute the power levels through the cable. If you're having intermittent disconnects, you should call them and ask for a LEVEL3 tech to come to check the cable connections from the "TAP" (which is where the cable comes to home), it's possibly needed to rewire the cable and splitters in your home

Go to itunes. There, wait for itunes to recognize your iphone. It will then ask you if you want to upgrade. Click yes. If it doesn't ask you if you want to upgrade, try to find the manual button that says upgrade. Don't try to upgrade without using itunes
You can download any available ODD (Optical Disc Drive) updates from http://us.lgservice.com. Click Product Support, click Optical, choose your model number from the list, and click go. Click the Drivers & Software tab. Download the latest version posted (highest number). The firmware for all recent drives works with Windows. Before running the update, make sure the drive is empty. Close as many programs running the background as you can. Run the downloaded executable file to start the update. Some will automatically start updating the dive and some will require you to push "Upgrade" or "Start". If the firmware doesn't see the drive it was designed for, it will not install. WARNING: Never update the firmware if the problem you're having is the drive isn't seen by windows, won't write with the included software, or other interface related problems. Unless the firmware specifically states it fixes the problem you are having, firmware updates normally don't fix these types of problems. Trying to update the firmware when there are interface problems can damage the drive's firmware. An error when updating the firmware is usually caused by a problem with the drive interface or there is more than one drive connected to that IDE channel. IMPORTANT: do not interfere with the drive during the firmware update. If an error occurs during the upgrade process, or the upgrade process is cancelled during this process, damage to the drive can occur. If you experience any problems or have any questions, please contact our LG customer support line toll-free at 1-800-243-0000. hope this helps
