Samsung HT-P38 won't play DVDs but plays CDs just fine
Eleven months after purchasing our system from Best Buy, the system stop playing DVDs. CDs play just fine. When you insert any DVD, it says "loading" but eventually fails, checks the other "slots" for discs then sayd "no disc". We got it to play for no known reason once or twice in the last few months, but no consistency. I have reviewed problems on this site from others with same issue, but none of the "solutions" applied or helped. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

This either means the dvd drive went bad which I doubt but is possaible. In that case you would either need to buy a new dvd drive for it and replace it yourself or send it in for repairs. If it is not under warrenty however it probably will cost a pretty penny.
The other reason, and probably more likely one, is that whatever your trying to play on those dvds and cds is not supported by that system.
You have to connect extra red & white audio cable from your TV's (or cable box, if you have one) AUDIO OUT to the Home Theater's AUX IN 2 at the back (below Video In). Set the HTS unit to AUX 2 using the AUX button on the remote control and you should be able to get sound.
I have a SONY home theater system, HT-C800DP, there is a crackling sound when playing DVDs - it is almost as if the unit overheats. Is there any solution to this? Sometimes I cannot even finish a DVD as the noise gets very loud.
