Camera will not focus. Everything in the display screen and every picture is out of focus.
I can hear a noise when I zoom. Perhaps the camera is trying to focus?
Sounds like the camera is trying to focus if you hear sound when pressing the shutter halfway down or zooming. If the noise is a scraping or grinding sound, you might have debris stuck between the cracks of the lens and the camera body. This happened to me after i dropped my canon sd550 on the beach just once and it never recovered. Next to water sand has got to be one of a camera's worse enemy.
Also, the lens might be cocked a bit which would prevent the camera from focusing and zooming smoothly. Try gently adjusting the the lens. Sometimes the slightest imperfection in the lens will throw everything off. Good luck!

It is almost impossible to not use the AF mode from the camera. Perhaps you managed to put the camera in Accessery lens AF, without any extra lens on the camera. Or perhaps only the pictures are blurred, because you zoomed in to far, without a tripod.
As long as I can't see a picture it is difficult to decide where the problem comes from.
While shooting a picture, just press the shutter release button half, till the green light goes on. Then press the button fully.
Once you've framed your shot (zoomed in) and taken the picture. That's it, the picture you've taken is the one in your view finder, and that's the way its kept.
However, if you want to zoom in further, you can using the software you were provided with your camera, you can, you can also zoom in using your camera menu. Once happy you can then save the edited picture. But this time its a digital zoom and it will reduce the resolution. The picture won't look quite as fine. It will be a balance between picture quality and the extent you want to zoom in.
This is a known issue with Fuji S3000 cameras caused by dust and dirt that get in through the loosely mounted lens mechanism, there are only three solutions.
If under warranty you can send the camera in for repair.
Saturate around the lens with WD40 and wiggle the lens until it becomes responsive again every month or so.
Dismantle the camera and clean out around the internal gear-box and lens components about once a year.
change auto focus to single focus mode, since it is on continuous auto focus on default, it would focus all the time so you don't need to click half way before taking a picture
This would need to be serviced something is wrong with the auto focus and this is inside the lens housing. I would take it into a camera shop and have the examin the autofocus.
On Sony equipments this error code seems to be dedicated to focus and lens errors. You may have either some dirt or anything like this inside the lens or focus mechanism, or a broken mechanism (any drop of your camera lastly ?).
If you can open it properly, you should check for "foreign body" inside the mechanism (focus and zoom mechanism, but but code 00 means focus normaly).
Is your memory full? Does the camera attampt to focus when you push the button down 1/2 way? If not the mode dial may be faulty (you are not in picture taking mode) or the shutter button may be faulty (no focus attempt) Try to use the timer button to get the shutter to trip.
some cameras have a choice in menu as to monitor or continous autofocus-monitor or continous means camera always seeks a focus which hurts bat life but makes focus quicker-single means camera won't focus untill button pressed halfway-make sure you are not in macro mode-flower icon on screen-this will screw up focus except for close up work-good luck-check menu settings for your type of focus
Do you hear any unusual friction noise while the lens assembly projects out.. if so then the traction assembly of your zoom barrel has developed mechanical obstruction, in which case it has to be serviced. Take it to the service centre and the problem will be solved. If the zoom assembly does not fully extent to its homing position, the camera retracts and lens and powers itself off. Enjoy
