Cartridge not detected or missing message.

My printer screen is showing that the ink cartridge/s cannot be detected or are/is missing. This has only happened after I removed and replaced the black cartridge. I have cleaned the contacts on cartridge & on the printer, but printer still tells me the same.

I have the same problem and I thought it was because I was out of ink but I just put in a new black one because the color is full and I still get the same message.

Have just purchased a new C4280, and cannot get beyond the message "Print cartridge(s) missing or not detected", inspite of new HP cartridges being installed in accordance with instructions.

`Print cartridge missing or not detected `message now showing - have tried disconnecting and rebooting printer. Happened after replacing cartridge. Both new cartridges now, and still same message. Printer was working fine before. Tapes definitely removed from cartridges. PC not showing any errors with printer.

I tried DIFFERENT print cartridges and rebooted the printer, and got it to work. Took the old cartridges that DIDN'T work and put them in an identical printer and it worked fine..... go figure. Way to go HP.

I have just loaded both color and black cartridges into my HP photosmart D5360 and the ! buttong and On/off button are flashing. The message on the printer screen is "Print cartridge(s) missing or not...

Remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken . It is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the command , can be an issue with ink drying , can also be poor ink cartridge contacts

HP Photosmart displays a message saying "Printer Cartridge(s) missing or not detected" though I've just put a new cartridge into the machine. How do I fix this so I can print again?

Remove the cartridge.
Make sure that you removed a piece of clear plastic tape that covers the ink-jets. It's placed there to prevent the ink from drying-out while the cartridge has been sitting on the shelf at the computer store.
Re-insert the cartridge, and be sure that it "clicks" into place.

Installed a black ink cartridge and the printer shows the message 'black cartridge missing' and also says 'cartridge error: error 50c'

Hi there Error 50c

Can only gave it a try.

Regarding the Dell A940 "Error 50c"....the user guide doesn't seem to mention "Error 50c". They do, however, mention a "Cartridge Error" on page 52 of the manual. They claim this means that the printer has detected a short circuit (fuse/resister) in the cartridge. As you may or may not have noticed in the manual, this is what they recommend doing about it:

1) Press Power to turn the printer off.

2) Lift the printer cover/lid (scanner unit) until the scanner support holds it open.

3) Turn the printer on.
The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is busy.

4) Remove the color ink cartridge.

5) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.
If the error message displays again, replace the black cartridge with a new black cartridge.

If the error message does not display, repeat steps 1–3 and then go to step 6.

6) Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black ink cartridge.

7) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If the error message displays again, replace the color cartridge with a new
color cartridge.
If there is no error message (indicated by flashing lights), repeat steps 1–3 and then reinstall both ink cartridges.
8) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If you get the error message again, while both cartridges are installed, replace both of the cartridges.

Basically, what they want you to determine is,....if the short circuit is with the "black ink" cartridge or the "color ink" cartridge and then replace the cartridge that has the problem.

You may have to buy a new cartrige.
Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

5300 kodak eazyshare printer

Well, here is the proper way of fixing or troubleshooting that paper jam error in your printer

Open the printer access door and remove both of the ink cartridge, then remove also the printhead, after that close the printer access door, without those parts. Then it will show a message in the printer screen, "Printhead is missing or has come loose" or "Printhead Not Detected" Install the printhead, just the printhead without the ink cartridges. After that close the printer access door. Then it will show you a message"Ink cartridges is not installed, install ink cartridges". then open again the printer access door, then install the black ink cartridge without the color ink cartridge. then close the printer access door, then message must be " Color ink cartridge is not installed, install color ink cartridge" then install the color ink cartridge." the message must be,"New printhead is detected calibration require, load paper and press start"

Thats the way of overiding the paper jam error message of your kodak all in one printer
hope this will help you guys
