Arrrggghhhh! i have a problem with the lens of my digital camera (HP R507). When I click the 'on' swith the camera makes a whiring sound and the light comes on as normal but then the camera will automatically switch itself off - presumably because the lens is not opening at all. The cap will not open fully and then it closes again very slowly. Please can anyone help?!!?? I have tried to clean round the edges of the lens cap with a cotton bud which did not make any difference at all.

The lens mechanism is shot. This will usually mean a replacement camera Check out the customer support -but I reckon new camera is going to happen any time soon

I had the same problem on my hp R507 digicam. I took it to a technician who changed the lens. This resolved the problem. I think you should do same.

set the autofocus swith in the camera beside the lens to AF, and in the lens switch to AF

Lens doesn't go in or out - just whiring sound and focus error message

these are really small parts & tend to pop out of place with little impact, you can take the lens apart & pop the out of place piece back in if it's not broken

I have been searching for nearly six months for replacement parts for several point and shoot digital cameras with no luck at all. I think the factory updates them so often it is not cost effective to maintain parts for them.

Need Help!

Sounds like this camera will need inspection and repair by HP. Since it was expensive, it might be worth doing, so I would send it directly to HP (find out where and how at their website). Pack it in several layers of bubble wrap, not packing peanuts! HP should offer you an estimate for cost of repair, or possibly a trade-in. Good luck.

Downloading photos from Micro Innovations TravelCam Plus (ic500dm) I downloaded the drivers on a WinXP machine successfully, the camera is getting detected and in Windows Movie Maker it can record and take pictures but I can't find a way to get photos from the camera memory.
