I have a Hitachi 46UX50B that just faded out one day when the screen picture faded with green and red coloring and now does not power up. I thought it would be the projection lamp, but just brought it in for an estimate and was told the high voltage transformer needed replacement. I had the same symptoms you describe when trying to turn it on....maybe this will help.

I had this problem in a 46UX50B (I think that's the model), and it turned out to be some capacitors in the power circuit(?). After the service guy replaced those, it hasn't failed to come on since.

I have a 51inch LG TV and never had a problem I turned it off as normal and then tried to turn it on a while later and nothing I only got a red solid stand-by light it don't flash when press side buttons...

Try following the steps below.
Step 1
Press the power button once. If the TV does not turn on, observe the LED indicator, usually located on the TV's lower front panel. If the LED indicator turned off after you pressed the power button once, it is in standby mode. Press the power button once again to exit standby and turn on the TV.

Step 2
Observe the Standby light if the remote control will not work. If the Standby light stays on, the television is in Standby mode. Press the power button on the television, then try to use the remote.

Step 3
Turn the Energy Saving Switch off, then press the power button. The Energy Saving Switch is located on the rear or side panel on most Sony model TVs. Refer to your TV user manual for the exact location of the switch.

My Hitachi 57F710 TV turns off as soon as it turns on?

The model indicated is a DLP which uses a lamp---lamp will not usually cause set right on and then instantly off----takes it 15 seconds or so if lamp has failed.

Also set has led on front that may blink.

If instant it is turned on it goes off----you have a short likely in power supply or elsewhere.

You were attempting to perform a power scan initially. The second procedure is manually attempting to address the remote to your TV. I will give you the procedures again so you can try one more time. Emerson TV is one brand we have a low percentage of success getting our remotes to work. If it still doesn't work, we could try replacing the remote.

TV code: 623, 667, 666, 233, 516, 537, 544, 642, 655, 699, 000, 999, 888, and 720.

Remotes: Basic (Television Only)
  1. Turn the Television On.
  2. Press and hold the clear TV button for six seconds until the LED flashes.
  3. Enter the three-digit code using the buttons on the number pad.
  4. Press #. Note: The LED will flash three times.
  5. Test functionality with the TV.
  6. Return to Step 2 if the remote is not able to turn the TV On/Off, change the volume and mute the television.
Remote Power Scan: Basic Remote (Television Only)
  1. Turn the Television On.
  2. Press and hold the clear TV button for six seconds until the LED flashes.
  3. Press and release the red TV Power button.
  4. Press and release the Up or Down Arrow on the remote until the television turns off once every second.
  5. After the television turns off, press and release the # button.
  6. Test functionality with the TV.
  7. Return to Step 2 if the remote is not able to turn the TV On/Off, change the volume and mute the television.

Replaced main bulb in front but lamp button on front of tv is still blinking and tv won't show picture

The lamp timer on the Hitachi projector must be reset whenever the lamp has been replaced. The "Lamp" indicator on the display will light red or the "Change the Lamp" message will display when the lamp timer needs to be reset. Hitachi recommends that the lamp timer never be reset without replacing the lamp and to always reset the timer when the lamp is replaced. The message functions of the projector will not function properly if the lamp timer is not correctly reset.

  • Turn the power on. Press the "Reset" button for three seconds until the "Lamp xxxx hr" message appears on the lamp timer on the bottom of the screen.

  • 2

Press the "Menu" button on the remote control while the lamp timer is displayed.

  • 3

Press the left arrow button. Select "0" and wait until the timer display clears.

    Replacing lamp

try this to see if it works!

If you replace the DLP lamp out of your Zenith or LG, you will need to reset the
counter…Otherwise you may get an annoying reminder every few days if you’re
    surpassed the predetermined hour mark.

Ensure the TV is powered on.

Press and hold the MENU button on the TV

Press and hold the MENU button on your REMOTE
(hold both these until the service menu pops up 5-10 secs max.)

Let go of the REMOTE button first, then release the button on the TV

Press and hold the ENTER (or OK) button on the TV

Press and hold the MUTE button on the REMOTE
(hold both until the LAMP LIFE HOURS appears on the screen)

Let go of the REMOTE button first, then release the button on the TV
We suggest writing your lamp hours on a peice of masking tape and taping it to the back the TV for future reference

To reset the lamp counter, press SELECT (or the button in the middle of the direction arrove buttons). Hit SELECT a second time to confirm clearing the lamp counter

For certain models, you might have to tweak these steps slightly… offer your inputs!
