Television led lamp will light when power button on remote is pressed but will go off before turning t v on ,you can press remote again and hear a click in unit but will not power up. any ideas would be helpfull, thanks
I have a Hitachi 46UX50B that just faded out one day when the screen picture faded with green and red coloring and now does not power up. I thought it would be the projection lamp, but just brought it in for an estimate and was told the high voltage transformer needed replacement. I had the same symptoms you describe when trying to turn it on....maybe this will help.

I had this problem in a 46UX50B (I think that's the model), and it turned out to be some capacitors in the power circuit(?). After the service guy replaced those, it hasn't failed to come on since.

The lamp timer on the Hitachi projector must be reset whenever the lamp has been replaced. The "Lamp" indicator on the display will light red or the "Change the Lamp" message will display when the lamp timer needs to be reset. Hitachi recommends that the lamp timer never be reset without replacing the lamp and to always reset the timer when the lamp is replaced. The message functions of the projector will not function properly if the lamp timer is not correctly reset.
Turn the power on. Press the "Reset" button for three seconds until the "Lamp xxxx hr" message appears on the lamp timer on the bottom of the screen.
Press the "Menu" button on the remote control while the lamp timer is displayed.
Press the left arrow button. Select "0" and wait until the timer display clears.
Hi,
You can programme your
remote by below method
Manual code entry
1.Turn
on your television or other electronic component that you want to program
the remote control for.
2.Hold
down the "Code Search" or "Setup" button until the LED
indicator light turns on.
3.Hit
the button for the component that you are programming (TV,DVD VCR, etc.).
The LED light should flicker and stay on.
4.Enter
the 3-digit or 4-digit code that corresponds to the TV or device that you're
operating. The LED light should go off if the code is valid, but will flash if
it is not. Try other codes you have.
5.Try
turning the television or other programmed component off to ensure that the
remote works properly, once the light has gone off.
Auto configuration
1.Turn
on your television or other electronic component that you want to program the
remote control for.
2.Hold
down the "Code Search" or "Setup" button until the LED
indicator light turns on.
3.Hit
the button for the component that you are programming (TV, DVD, VCR, etc.). The
LED light should flicker and stay on.
4.
Press and release the "Power" until the television or other component
turns off while waiting at least 2 seconds between each press.
5.Press
"Enter" or "Save" once the remote has effectively turned
the power off. The LED light will shut off and the remote will now operate the
device.
