I am having a problem with the car overheating. When it gets around 200 degrees yu cant push on the accelerator without it stalling. I found a leak by the thermostat so I replaced it and the gasket. I was thinking of checking the heater core next but I hear that can be a real pain. is there any quick fixes I can try or do I have to replace the heater core
Bad heater core won't cause engine to overheat unless its leaking coolant and coolant level low, if car is running hot make sure your radiator cooling fan is coming on, fan won;t come on unless a/c is on or engine reaches 228 degrees

before u replace heator core check the drain for the a/c it is possible that it is clogged with something if the liquid is clear to jack the car up on the pass side.get up under and look where the under bottom the car and firewall meet should be a hose that is not attached to nothing coming out of the bottom of the car. when u find it blow air in to it and it should come unclogged. it is possible that the hose is push back in to the car. if so put the carpet back on the passenger side look under the back a/c box should be next to the firewall of the car put it back on. good luck

There should be a heater control valve attached to the heater hose line, it can stick shut, and no circulation to heater core= no heat. You eliminated the core and t-stat as the problem, check autozone site, it is a $45 part, hope you have heat!!!
