Either one or 2 things happened. The move cause the lint to shift around inside the dryer and it overheated blowing the fuse. OR the new apartment's vent is blocked and caused the dryer to overheat. All maytag dryers are not the same but they all have a non resetable fuse mounted on the blower housing. When the temp exceeds 350f it melts and kills power to the motor. If the motor is not running the heat does not get power. The motor must be turning to make the cent switch power up the heater. Dryer manuals

SOURCE: GE dryer starts but..... stops

What you describe is either a failed evenheat board or a failed motor relay.
Please post the complete model number from the machine and I can help you narrow it down. There should be a wiring diagram inside the console with voltage checks also.
Thanks/Mike

Door switch If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch.Check online for the part repairclinic.com has it for $14.00 not bad

Dryer won't start..light clicking noises

There is a switch inside the unit that stops it when the belt breaks or comes loose. Check that.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II gas dryer won't turn off.

Dryer Won't Stop Running
  • Ultimate Car II Dryers are fitted with a mechanical timer that sends an impulse to the control circuit board to stop running once the set amount of drying time has elapsed. This is because, should an electronic timer fail, this would necessitate the replacement of the entire circuit board. Confirm that the mechanical timer is indeed broken by opening the dryer's door. If the dryer stops, the circuit board is working fine and is not the problem. Simply slide off the protective faceplate of the dryer, unscrew the control board beneath, and flip it over. Connected to the back of the timer's knob should be a small round device with two wires running to the circuit board within the body of the dryer. Unscrew this device from the back of the knob and disconnect the wires. A replacement timer costs a few dollars and should screw into place without trouble. Reconnect the wires and put the dryer back together. It should work fine now.
  • If you need a new timer the best place ti get it is from Rough River Appliance Repair

Have you looked for a belt on the drum of the dryer? Mine has a motor but it is attached to a wheel that turns large belt that extends around the drum.

My dryer flew off of a dolly when loading it on a trailer to move it. It smells like rubber is burning when I turn the dryer on. It was working fine until we moved the dryer. Could it be the belt is loose?

If the dryer fell some distance, the drum is probably out of alignment.

If the drum is not spinning at all, something has jammed the drum and the belt is being overheated by the motor pulley.

If the drum is spinning and there is a rubber smell, the drum has been knocked off of its rollers and/or glides.

In either case, the dryer needs to be opened. Click the link below:

There are two basic types of Maytag dryers, older models and the newer ones with the door that wraps over the top ('L' shaped door).

Kenmore 70 dryer smells burnt

There could be dust settled on the motor inside from the few years in storage. Unplug and remove back, with a hoover brush **** off all dust but do this lightly as to not disturb any connections.

Buzzer won't go off when dryer is stopped - All else works fine - must leave door open

Fiddled around with the start button. It had gotten stuck in the on position and when I moved it around it freed up. I consider this a temporary fix only and have already ordered a replacement switch.
