Have had this problem since August 2006 and it has been getting increasingly worse. I turn it on with remote or manually and can hear the relay click twice and the TV doesn't come on. Unplugged it for awhile at first and it would then come on. A month or two later I cleaned out all the dust and did a visual. Put it together and then it worked again. Now I have to repeatedly click the relay with the on button or remote until I hear the Horiz. Freq. start then it comes on. This now takes 20 or 30 tries. I even replaced the Horiz. output transistor once.(that was a dumb idea but I was desperate)If it is the relay, what is the part number and where can I get one online? Thanks. ajduke.

Most tv's have a physical button on the front and it will either be labeled input or source-source select. If thats not the case on your tv, look for a menu button and try to navigate through the tv menus until you find tv input or source select. If that still does not work, you can use your dish 500 remote and if you already use that to turn the tv on and adjust volume, you can probably use it to change the input. To do this, select the tv mode on your dish 500 remote, and then press the source or input button until you get to where you need to be. Once thats done, make sure you return your remote to sat mode or you will not be able to control the dish reciever. Hope this was helpfull to you.
if the tv does not have a menu function on the front of it then it is impossible. you will have to buy the original remote offline somewhere. you may try an universal remote, but can't guarantee this will work.
seems that the on/off button on the remote may be bad. when pressing this button look and see if the remote is lighten up indicating its working. if this button does not light up, but when changing the channel or volume it does, then the on/off button is bad.
this answer has given also to some one had the same problem.
"On your remote should be a button called TV caption or text. Turn off the closed caption as someone hit it and turned it on by accident. If its not on your remote, then it is in the menu." Good Luck
