Hello,

Two things, First you need to replace all of the capacitors on the power supply board at the same time even if they do not show signs of failure because they have been under stress. Secondly, you need to use the correct ratings on the capacitors not just the mfd and voltage. Parts from Radio Shack and such will not work right and can cause additional damage to the power supply board. Here is a link to an article about getting the correct capacitors for LCD monitor repairs.

I hope this helps,

SOURCE: LG flatron L1970 h monitor flickers.

Just fixed mine :)

Biggest mistake was to try to open the monitor itself :( But I didn't brake anything :D

You just have to gently open the transformer unit (power brick) and replace two identical 1000uF 16V capacitors.
Here's how:
Remove the power cord first, to discharge the capacitors to avoid any nasty shocks when inside. Remove two rubber feet on the bottom side of the power brick. Just use your nail and lift them. Put them safely for later assembling. Unscrew two screws you just found under the removed feet. Now you have to unlock the other side held together by plastic locks. Try to apply pushing force and toque with screwdriver just where the seam is meeting the power cord socket's edge. Look for two identical capacitors and check if the tops are bulged of broken. I assume they are but you can try this method anyway. When the unit is disassembled you'll have to unsolder at least one of the wires that hold shielding plate on the bottom of the circuit board. Then unsolder the two capacitors (1000uF 16V). Replace them with the same type (1000uF) and the closest voltage possible. I have replaced mine with 1000uF 24V ones and so far I'm typing :D
That's it. If you have done this and looked for other damaged capacitors and replaced them also... Well then good luck disassembling the monitor unit and checking on inverter and lamps ;)

Cheers!

From the information desribed, this means that your CRT monitor is going dead. Unfortuntly, there is no way to stop the flickering unless the monitor was replaced. I hope this has helped

Philips 32PFL3505D/F7 32-Inch LCD HDTV keeps turning off when I turn it on

You have a shorted Diode in the power supply board. The power supply board has a 110 volt AC cord attached to it. Locate diode D621. It will be near the red, black and white wires attached to the inverter board. Snip this diode on one end and lift it just to clear the board. You may cut the other end and remove (don't have to). Do not try to tear the diode out or you will destroy the board. The TV will operate fine without this diode. Replace your ac fuse (4 AMP, GMA fast blow fuse ). You just repaired your TV. Thanks for asking, Matt of Martins TV.

Nov 21, 2008 - I have a proview 19" LCD TV PA-19DK5. In the last few days when I turn on the tv the picture appears and disappears after 1 sec. audio is fine, when I use my xbox 360 through the component...

Please post the pictures, that will help. Do find any fuse in the inverter circuits, if you do have 5v (for logic) and 12v (for backlights), then may be the power supply is OK but I am not sure that the inverter is using 12vdc since you have some caps rated at 35vdc, Iwould expect the inverter to be using 24vdc for backlights. Monitor keeps shutting down into power save mode? Its a LG Flatron L1932TQ-BF. Turn it off then back on it comes on for a breif second then shuts down again?

This happens when the capacitors (680uf/25v & 1000uf/16v) on power supply board are blown.

Start up takes longer than 5 minutes

Check power board for capacitors with swollen tops. Replace them with same mfd value but slightly higher voltage value. Example if 1000mfd/10v use 1000mfd/16v.
