Ricoh is 420 is not scanning properly - I've downloaded the updated driver (i think)

I think you are going to have to call Ricoh customer service regarding this error. Otherwise, you have to fall back on basic troubleshooting for any printer. Beside such stuff as shutting off the printer and restarting it, you might check Windows Update as well as the status of the printer drivers. I simply have no reference as to what this error is. I think this is a discontinued printer. How that relates to any service contract you may have is something only you know. You need to do a firmware update. Get the machine ip address. Login, default is admin as the username. I get my firmware on the My-Ricoh site but you 'll need to be registered on that site. Call your local Ricoh agent to come do a firmware update on the machine. Alternatively you can download a scan to pdf program and then go to google and type MP1600 network twain driver. But the machine needs to be connected to the network. It's a network printer.

I think you're out of luck. Seiko has really downgraded its legacy product support and it has minimized its application and driver software available for download. You can try using a Windows 7 package. To find software for your SLP 100 you'll have to go to a third party site like Drivers Guide. The link below is for version 7.0.3 while it says its for the SLP 420 it's actually compatible with several models

Important tips when finding and downloading application/ driver software from non-OEM sites

1. Never install any application from a non-OEM site that says it will scan your computer to determine what files you need. - search using the manufacturer name, model number, and current operating system on the computer you want to install the device on.

2. Only install the files you found. Never download any software suggested.

3. When installing the downloaded files, always select Custom Installation to make sure you only install the software you need. In this case only the application and driver files, nothing else ( no driver updating, security scanning, toolbar, etc. programs).

In the specific case of the Seiko Smart Label printer make sure your printer is not hooked up until the Seiko software tells you to.

With the MFC 420-cn ( and I have one right beside me ) you have to update the drives from windows update. They aren't included in the Windows 7 disk. I've finally gotten all the functions on mine to work.

Ricoh driver is a base driver for pc's and laptops. You can fixed that error by updating the driver via internet or software. If you wish to update your ricoh driver via software, download the latest or compatible ricoh driver based on your operating system. If it is windows 7 or vista, check if it is a 32bit, 64bit, 82bit etc. OS.. Now if you downloaded ricoh driver and it is compatible, you can now update your driver manually in your Device Manager.

Re install the driver. Download this Driver Update Software for XP Vista 7 8 and update. I hope this helped
