Philips GoGear HDD6330 MP3 Player Logo

Question about Philips GoGear HDD6330 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Menu isn't finding the music selections.

The first thing that happened is that all the memory was erased for some reason. So I downloaded it all back from the computer. On the computer side, it shows that the sync'd device has everything I downloaded. But when I operate the mp3, I don't see that many songs on it. And now if try to download anything more, the computer shows I have downloaded successfully, but the music is just not there in the menu on the MP3. Is this a MP3 memory problem or a menu problem?

    Philips tech support is not able to solve this problem. They think it is a firmware issue however my firmware is up to date. The question is, do I send this back to Philips?

Here's what happened: When you first synced your player to Windows Media Player, you may have set up the automatic sync option. When this option is selected, Windows Media Player will add EVERY song, picture, etc from your Library on your computer to the player. Now, every time you sync you device, it adds every new file from your computer into the player automatically. It will even delete songs from your player that were on there before.

Go into Windows Media Player 11 with your player connected to the computer (it will automatically sync and add new files one last time), move the mouse cursor over to the sync tab; a small black arrow will appear under the word "Sync"; click on the small black arrow and a dropdown menu will appear; select "Portable media device" from the dropdown menu, and another dropdown menu will appear; select "Set Up sync"; a window will appear with some information on your device - uncheck the box that says "Sync this device automatically"; click Finish; This will eliminate the problem of Windows always adding/deleting songs/files you don't want into your player.

I have a 1gb memory card with this camera but for some reason it only lets me take 9 - 13 photos before saying the memory is full - whereas my old camera, with the same memory card, would let me take 300+!...

I don't believe your camera is writing to the card...it's probably just using the internal memory which is very small. Here's what you need to do. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, insert your card and do the "format " thing again. This will erase the card so if you have any pics on it, download them first using a card reader if necessary.

My memory card doesnt work. i have nokia 5800 express music,it shows like no memory card egsists. please help

There website is down so I can't see your model.

Two things, you did not format the card with the phone, you could have a format option in your menu to format the card before you can use it.

DO NOT FORMAT THE CARD WITH A COMPUTER.

The card might be the wrong kind, the phone might only be able to handle a SD Card and not a SDHC card.

Ok there back up, your phone can handle SDHC so thats not it,

Select Menu > Applications > File mgr..
These options are available only if a compatible memory
card is inserted in the device.
Select Options and from the following:
● Memory card options — Rename or format a memory

So you need to format the card before you can use it,

make sure the card does not have a lock on it,little switch on it,if it does make sure it is on unlocked.

If you have anything on the card, save it somewhere because the format will erase the card.

Formatting

Hi,

If for some reason the Format option is gone, then perhaps some of the firmware or settings have been drastically changed or worst, corrupted.

A couple of things you can try:
a. do a soft reset - press on the Power/Menu for 15 seconds;
b. do a full settings reset - Main Menu/Settings/Reset All;
c. do a Format - Main Menu/Settings/Format but all in the internal memory will be erased;

If the above will not work, you can also try:
1. download and run in your PC Sansa Connect Recovery Tool
2. read the How to use the Sansa Connect Recovery Tool and follow the instructions carefully;
3. doing #1 will erase the corrupted files, unfortunately so with everything else. It will then restore the device software to an uncorrupted state.

Hope this be of help/ Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Help

Hi,

Yes and in several methods as below listed. Since your posting refers to a generic problem for all digital cameras and not only an Olympus FE-230, some of the settings may have a different nomenclature or button name.
1. When you download pictures to you PC, rather than copy, select move; or
2. If you want to erase one picture at a time from the camera - press on the power button, then menu button, once menu is displayed, arrow down/up, you will be asked to erase the picture displayed, select yes/no by up/down, then press OK (menu button); or
3. If you want to erase all contents of the memory card of the camera - press on the power button, then menu button, once menu is displayed, arrow right, down to select card, right to select card setup, right to enter card setup, arrow down to select format or erase all, OK. Erase all just erases the files, format erases all and re-initialize the memory card; or
4. Remove memory card from camera and insert into a memory card reader attached to USB of your PC. The memory from the camera will be treated as a removable device and you can view, move, copy, delete/erase, format. This option seems to be most effective in viewing all contents under Windows Explorer with the view setting set to Thumbnail.
5. Connect the camera via the supplied cable to any USB port of your PC. The camera will be treated as a removable device and you can view, move, copy, delete/erase, format. This option seems to be most effective in viewing all contents under Windows Explorer with the view setting set to Thumbnail.

Specifically for an Olympus FE-230:
1. Press the < or > buttons to display the picture you want to erase;
2. Press the trash can button (bottom right);
3. Press the UP button to select [YES], press OK;

or

To erase all:
1. Press the MENU button to display the top menu in playback mode;
2. Select [ERASE], [ALL ERASE], and press OK;
3. Select [YES], and press OK

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
