I have a Canon S830D printer that no longer prints. The paper goes in halfway then stops and I get a rapid clicking sound then the message appears that there is a paper jam.. I have used the Cleaning the print head mode, Refreshing the print head mode and Printing a nozzle check pattern, but the copier still won't print. Is this printer ready for the dump?d

Before dump, perform a hard reset of printer electronics to factory defaults, Then uninstall and reinstall driver. If still no change, then dump.

SOURCE: Canon MF4150 Duplex Printing Paper Jams

I have just had the same problem on one of these Canon MF4150 machines.
The manufactures warranty on our machine had expired just one week before this happened so I had to fix this myself.
The problem we had (which is very likely to be the same cause as yours) is when we removed some torn jammed paper, it had somehow pulled off a spring from inside the machine. The spring was linked to the paper jam sensor.
It does involve a LOT of work to fix it, and unless you are very 'techy' it may be quite a difficult task to do this for the 'average' person.
I had to completely disassemble the machine: Take off the front first (lift up the cover and there is 2 screws at the front and 2 clips on the bottom of the machine) Then remove the 2sides and finally the top (screws should be easy to see, to get the sides off, un-clip along the front edges and gently move them outwards and slide them backwards to release the clips on the back) being careful with the wires going to the scanner part). Then look for the fuser unit which is near the top at the back, there is a black rounded cover over the fuser. To remove the cover, look for 2 small clips one at each side and unclip the cover and gently lift upwards.  Under the cover on the left side you will see a small plastic rod which goes from the left side to a small tab in the middle, if you look about half way along that rod you should see a tiny spring, make sure this is clipped on properly and that you are able to rotate the rod and it should spring back to the proper position when you let go.
Once this is done, put it all back together again and it should work fine.

I'm sure a lot of other people probably have this same problem too so I hope this helps someone.

SOURCE: The 3eBK head stopped printing.

Try below some steps which might help you resolve the problem.

Print Head Cleaning / Head Refreshing If the printed Nozzle Check Pattern is broken, missing, or a specific color is not printed, clean the print head.

  1. Press the <Menu> button on the printers operation panel repeatedly until [MAINTENANCE] appears in the LCD.
  2. Press the left [<] or right [>] arrow buttons to select the cleaning setting you want. Select [HEAD CLEANING] or [HEAD REFRESHING] for deep print head cleaning.

Note: [HEAD REFRESHING] uses more ink than [HEAD CLEANING], so perform [HEAD REFRESHING] only when necessary.
  3. Press the <OK> button.
  4. Print a Nozzle Check Pattern and perform at least two Head Refreshings if the pattern is not correct.
If this does not help, try removing the print head and then install it again. Once place, dont forget to aligh the head. Following are the steps:

Reseat Print Head Reseating the print head is seldomly needed to be done.
  1. Press the Open Button (1) to open the Paper Output Tray (2).

    IMPORTANT:

    a. Make sure that the ink tank is inserted in the slot that corresponds to the ink tank's color.

    b. If the ink tank is inserted in the wrong slot, perform two head refreshings.
  9. Close the Inner Cover 2.
  10. Close the Inner Cover 1.
  11. Pull the Scanning Unit Lever towards you to close the Scanning Unit.
  12. Align the print head position after the print head is installed. You can align the print head position either automatically or manually. When automatic alignment does not work well, align the print head position manually.
Automatically Aligning The Print Head Position:
  1. Load A4-or letter-size plain paper in the paper support tray. Auto alignment cannot be performed when the Feed Switch is set to [CASSETTE].
  2. Press <Menu> repeatedly until [MAINTENANCE] appears.
  3. Press left or right arrow to select [AUTO HEAD ALIGN].
  4. Press <OK>. The print head position alignment pattern prints.
  5. Check the printed pattern. If the printed pattern matches the illustration, the print head position alignment is complete.
Manually Aligning The Print Head Position:
When automatic alignment does not work well, align the print head position manually.
  1. Load A4- or letter-size plain paper in the paper support or cassette.
  2. Select the paper source with <Feed Switch> button.
  3. Press <Menu> repeatedly until [MAINTENANCE] appears.
  4. Use left or right arrow to select [ALIGN PRINT HEAD].
  5. Press <OK>. A horizontal pattern is printed.
  6. Beginning from column A on the printout, enter checkmarks in the patterns that have the most solid image.

SOURCE: After numerous cleaning cycles the nozzles on my

It will need a new printhead, QY6-0062-000, around $80.00. Leaving it sit and not printing just makes the problem worse, as more nozzles on the printhead get plugged. You get 90 day warranty with refurbished units and if it started out crappy you should have had a shop look at it, that model can print super photos! A new printhead will bring it back to life.

I have a Canon Pixma iP1900, it will initially grab the paper but then the paper will just stop but the printer will continue while the paper doesn't move. Then when I cancel the printing it tells me that...

Hello -

From Support information I found on the Canon website, the paper feed rollers of your PIXMA iP1900 may need cleaning.

Source:
https://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/content/faq/?itemid=tcm:14-609974

The feed roller cleaning function allows you to ckean the paper feed roller. perform feed roller cleantng when there are paper particles sticking to the paper feed roller and paper is not fed properly.
The procedure for cleaning the feed rollers is as follows:

1.Prepare the printer
Remove all sheets of paper from the rear tray.
2.Open the printer driver setup window
3.Click Roller Cleaning on the Maintenance tab
The confirmation message appears.
4.Execute paper feed roller cleaning
Make sure that the printer is on and click OK.
Paper feed roller cleaning starts.
5.Complete paper feed roller cleaning
After the rollers have stopped, follow the instruction in the message, load three sheets of plain paper into the rear tray, and click OK.
Paper will be ejected and feed roller cleaning will be completed.

I have a samsung CLX 3175 FW printer. Paper jams halfway through print cycle. Nothing in mech to stop - appears to be limit switch fault? If you turn the printer off and on it clears paper

The limit switches are just flags that block or unblock photo sensors. Try blowing the printer out with some canned air, paper dust on these sensors is a common cause of these problems.

"Paper Output Slot Jammed" Canon Pixma iP4300

These printers are FULL of very sensitive sensors, and chances are that one of them may have a small piece of paper blocking them. If you can get the covers off by finding the "Triangle" arrow markers, you can inspect all these sensors.

Good luck!!!

Printer is not working

Try pushing the print head carriage with a bit of gentle force. It is getting stuck, and hence the error. You may have to open side and top covers to reach this. Note: this is not the cartridges, but another device that moves back and forth on the slider carriage.
