I live in Guatemala. I had a new cable program installed a month ago. At that time, there was a block on one of the channels....I suspected it was a **** station. Last week that channel began to "appear" and I was right!
That signal is not clear, but it\'s clear enough to see the disgusting images.
A tech came out from the cable company and tried to block it...said he could not. I spoke w/ him again by phone just now and he said his "boss" said it cannot be blocked.
I would like to know if you can explain to me how to block a channel using my TV control? If I cannot block it I will have to remove the cable.

So you do not have cable service, taht means you are using Out-door, or In-door antenna to get the off the air signals? Your TV has ATSC tuner to receive digital Off the Air signal uisng antenna, so you do do not need to use the converter box.
To get a lot of Channel, you must have good antenna and the TV stations must not be blocked by tall buildings or mountains, which may explain why you are not getting many stations.
You may have to install good out door antenna to get more stations.

I don't know where you live or what TV stations are available, but many stations have already changed to digital before the new deadline. If the TV is still in good operating condition, I would get a converter rather than purchase a new set. You can still get a coupon at: http://www.dtv.gov/getcoupon.html
