Xbox prblem when i turn on my xbox it goe's to the start up screen then the eject button starts blinking red. next, there's a screen that pops up stating ERROR 16, then goe's your xbox need service? do to the problem that has been a occuring ever since i have scaned an anita baker CD

follow these steps
1) Press ST1+READY button together
2)Turn on the tvs speed 40plus passbook printer
3) The 4 LED will blink 4 times. Release the button ST1+READY immediately after 4 blinks
4)PRESS ST1 - ST1+READY+EJECT starts blinking
5)again PRESS ST1 - ST1+EJECT+ST2 starts blinking
6)again PRESS ST1 - ST1+EJECT starts blinking
7)again PRESS ST1 - ST1+EJECT starts blinking
8)again PRESS ST1 - READY+EJECT starts blinking
9) printer is READY wait and PUT PAPER.
10) The paper goes in and comes out 3 times. will take about 2 minutes.
11) Paper ejects automatically after printing.
12) turn off the printer and turn it on.

You can do this fan test.

Turn the main switch off, hold the eject button.

While holding the eject button, turn the main switch on, when the power light is green, release it and you should hear a beep.

The fan will operate at the highest speed possible and will eject any disc that is inside.

After about 15 seconds the fan will stop spinning and the ps3 will beep 3 times and the red light will blink. When this happens, turn the main switch off and on then turn it on normally.

is this a single red light? if so, it is a E code error. if there are 2, it is a overheating problem. if its 3, it is a general system error which could be a number of things which you need to figure out the secondary error code to narrow down the problem.
to find the secondary error code:
1. after the red lights start flashing, hold down the "controller sync" button.
2. push the "eject" button 4 times and count the amount of red lights that flash. the red lights will begin to flash rapidly. secondary error codes are only 4 numbers. 1 light = 1, 2 lights = 2, 3 lights = 3 and 4 lights = 4.
after you get the code go to this website, and on the right hand side of the screen under "Xbox Repair Guide" select your PRIMARY error code (1,2,3 or 4 slow flashing red lights). then it will ask you to enter your SECONDARY error code, which is the one you discovered in the steps above.
this will give you a very narrowed down idea of what is wrong with your console, and will give us "questions answerers" a better idea on how to help ya out!

* Turn the xbox 360 on, and wait till the 1 red lights are flashing.
* Press and hold the sync up button (the small white one), while holding that button press the eject button.
* The LEDs will now blink the first number in the code ( so 1 red light may be lit so write this down).
* Release the eject button and press it again.( it will then change the red lights and maybe 2 will be lit up write this down also)
* The LEDs will now blink the second number of the code.
* Release the eject button and press it again.
* The LEDs will now blink the third number of the code.
* Release the eject button and press it again.
* The LEDs will now blink the forth number of the code.
* Release the eject button and press it again.
* The LEDs will go back to the 1 red flashing lights.

so what you need to do is this, when the 1 red light comes on hold down the little white sync button and keep holding it down all the time, now whilst your holding that little white button down on the front of xbox press the eject button but keep holding the white button down now write how many lights are lit up and this is the 1st number in the code, so keep holding the white button down dont let go of this white button then press and let go of the eject button again and write how many lights are lit up whilst still holding the white button down, now do this 4 times all together and you will end up with something like this written down

It is overheating, or atleast it thinks it is. The 3 things that overheat in a 360 that trigger those lights are the CPU, GPU, and RAM.
When you turn on the console, and the 2 lights start blinking do this...
Hold down the sync button and press the eject button, it should blink a certain number of lights rapidly. Continue to hold the sync button and each press of the eject button moves to the next number of a code. After 4 presses total, you should have a 4 digit code and be back on the regular speed blinking of the 2 lights.
And here is what they mean (4 lights = 0)
0011- CPU is overheating 0012- GPU is overheating 0013- RAM is overheating or faulty (this can be the tricky one)
For the CPU and GPU, a simple X clamp fix will cure them. Sometime simply putting pressure on the RAM corrects it's issue... sometimes. But sometimes it can be a bad solder under the RAM or just faulty RAM, in which case I would have an expert repair it.

E71: possibly a dashboard update error, Check below in the "Console Reset Codes" for instructions. If that does not work there is no other solution and the console must be sent back to MS for repair.

See if you can restore back to factory settings. Your menu might be corrupted.

You may need a new drive, but I doubt it. After you get the Xbox open, peel off the silver tape thats on the bottom front of the DVD player, unplug the 2 connections, and lift it out. Turn the player upside down and remove the 4 screws, flip it back over and make sure that the try is lined up correctly with the mechinism.
