Re: some keys just stopped working
Probably for long time usage, the base at the bottom of these keys get stuck with dirts or loose so yu can use your finger nail to take each of them up and see whether the plastic base is still elastic. At first, you need to take all these keys out and do some cleaning with rubbing alcohol and check for properly sit of thes keys and realign the key in space and slightly snap them bak in until you hear the click sound. If all cleaning and checking are still not make them working then the sensing connection at the bottom may be bad contact and then you have to replace the keyboard. If yo are the heavy user and tapping hard the key everytime you type then the change of worning out of these keys are obviously. I hope this help

probably faulty hardware related to keyboard. you can try reinstall keyboard drivers but that probably will not solve your your problem. i advice you to take your laptop to a repair service for change that keyboard
This could happen when they keyboard setting is malfunctioning or there is a possible virus which is the reason behind this misbehavior.
I would suggest you start the PC in safe mode and then check if it works fine , if it does , then the problem could be with a virus , else you need to get your laptop's keyboard serviced and the problem would be solved.
First, try to connect an external USB keyboard & see if it will work fine. If the external USB keyboard works fine, then you will need to replace your laptop's keyboard, as there is almost nothing that can be done to fix a defective laptop keyboard.
Your backspace does not work.... well could be many reasons, but if its the key itself, you can replace just the dell laptop key, if you spilled something then you will need a new keyboard, we really need more info. Good luck!
Unfortunately, there is no way to purchase just one key of the keyboard. Acer does offer full replacement keyboards and they are easy enough to install. Unless you can find just the backspace key on eBay or something, you might have to replace the entire keyboard.
Use the backspace in between a sentance typed on Notepad, if that works - your keyboard and key is functional. Else, you might need a replacement Keyboard. (Click on Start > Run > Notepad > OK - To open notepad)
