I had this same problem...drove me crazy for a week. Called the geek squad at Best Buy and they mentioned something about a"patch" (which I had no idea what that meant) on the website of the printer. I went to Lexmark website, and selected 1200 series and windows vista (which is what's installed on my computer) A page came up to install a driver that made the two compatible and it worked!!!

Suggested solution to this problem: get rid of vista and go back to xp

Hi Brun I wanted to know first off all if you have installed the printer through the CD or from the downloaded files from internet.... Was the printer working fine before.....when did it quit exactly.... And also try performing a hardware test and let me know what happens with the result.. We will try solving the problem.....after I get the answers. Thanks and Regards Daniel Raj.J +919448461736 [email protected] [email protected], Windows live messenger. have Lexmark 6170, which will not communicate with vista home premium operating system. Getting message "printer not communicating with computer. Installed driver disk, down loaded latest version of driver software. No luck
I have A dell As well and its not working i would really loves some help
I have an emachines (dell) computer with Lexmark 1200 series printer. When I first installed driver from Lexmark.com it worked perfectly. About 6 months later it just stopped. I've installed and reinstalled several times with no luck. Thought it might be not compatible with Vista so just reinstalled with Vista driver still no luck. I pick something to print and it goes on list of documents to print but doesn't print out. I put new cartridges and my color doesn't print right either. On my test paper everything comes out pink and black no other colors come through.
I have a Lexmark 7100 All-In-One and cannot connect vista to my printer. This occurred after a microsoft update last night. I suspect the latest update has blocked my printer. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this.
