is there any way i could expand the max capacity of memory on each slot? for example, 2Gb on 1st slot + 2Gb on 2nd slot so i have 4Gb...

You see, forcing the slot to receive more than its max (factory-default) capacity could cause unknown side effect that could leads to damage to either memory, mainboard or both.
But if you're lucky, it just detect 2GB but got somewhat increased performance.
But you have to be a risk-taker because I
really, really am not recommend this.

I have Acer Aspire E500 (ASE500-UP801M) running Win XP Media Center edition, 1G RAM. It is too slow. Q1. Could I add another RAM stick to it and how much maximum could I add? Q2. How do I know the Bus

Test your computer using a brand new hard drive. 1GB memory is enough. I am sure this is a software problem (messy registry or problematic apps or malware) or space problem (the hard drive is almost full).

Information about how to expand RAM in Acer Aspire 1403LC

Most RAM will work with each other, but the safest way to be sure is by checking the speed. On the stick that is in there now you should see a label that says something like PC2100 DDR. I looked up the specs of your computer and this RAM should work for it.

What is the maximum memory capacity of acer aspire 5600 model

According to the specs of this laptop model, it supports up to 4 GB of DDR2 533/667 MHz memory using two soDIMM modules. This means that you will have to replace the 512 MB memory module already installed in your laptop, & replace it with 2 soDIMM DDR2 533/667 MHz memory modules, each of 2 GB capacity.

Instal new rams to up grade from 1 gb to 2 gb

Either the RAM is not compatible or not inserted correctly. Try removing and reseating both modules, if no change try with only one stick then switch and try just the other to see if the problem is just with one. You could also try resetting the BIOS to factory defaults.
