POOR AIR CIRCULATION Have just installed a Hampton Bay Midili 44in ceiling (flush to ceiling) in a normal sized bedroom but ceiling is 10 feet (with bulkheads running along top of two walls) and the air circulation is poor on high speed - some air is felt at sides and end of bed but elsewhere little to none. It is a puzzle as my brother has the exact same fan but with extender (slightly higher bed) and the air circulation on high is AMAZING! (I could move my bed to the middle of the room haha not really) Do you think the extender rod will do the trick or is something else going on here? It appears that the ceiling fan is working just fine as the blades speed around on high. Any suggestions? Thanks

Purchased Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan, Midili White 44", Model #71606 with remote from Home Depot. I have 2 switches wired to the lattter with 1 for the fan and the other for the light. Can I install...

Yes, you could, but you want have any way to control the fan speed. Unless, you install a rheostat that is rated for electric motors. A light dimming rheostat is not heavy duty enough, to handle the fan motor without over heating.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Reciever won't fit installing Hampton Bay Midili 44 in fan

I had the same problem. Instruction manual is awful. Doesn't mention anything about how to fit the huge yellow receiver either into (a) the mounting bracket or in (the canopy.
After numerous meltdowns, I finally figured it out. Instead of running the live wires through the center of the mounting bracket, run them on the side. The mount bracket to ceiling. If you try to run them through center, you will probably run out of room, and the Receiver will not fit. Once mounted, drop the pin into the mount and turn it until it locks into position.
Next, slide the Receiver in the tight space at top the pin, and just below top of mounting bracket. It will *barely* fit. Then connect all your wires with the wire nuts. Wrap in electrical tape just to be extra careful.
I could *not* get my wires to push up into the ceiling box because the Receiver was blocking the entrance. So I tucked them on the sides, and then lifted the canopy up and finished the installation. All the wires were hidden inside the canopy.
Hope that helps. And hope you haven't lost your mind yet.
God forbid they explain how to instal the receiver, or include a battery.

Hampton bay #762425 portland 2 ceiling fan

I suppose you can mount it as close to the ceiling as you want as long as the blades do not hit the ceiling. It being that close will not allow the air to flow as well if it was 6 to 12 inches lower.
