A friend's Maytag Atlantis has developed an annoyingly noisey timer. The timer makes a load whirling noise but it continues to advance and operate the washer.
A separate timer motor is not offered for this model therefore we have order a complete timer.
How does the timer knob come off of this machine?
Does the attached circuit board come with the new timer, if not does the board come off the timer easily?
If your timer has a gray rubber ring on it, the timer is in 4 pieces. Pull the top middle part out. Then there's a white locking piece in the center. Once that's out the other 2 pieces will pull out.
Note: The photo shows the top cover removed. The locking pin is the white center.
