I have the same problem when I scan for channels it picks up that channel. I have to unhook my cable line and remove the channel then rebook up.

Try to unplug power from set for a while and plug back to reboot--immediately delete that channel from the set's memory as it may contain signal that is causing this.

Also look to see if the set has a feature to lock out the buttons and or the remote control---a few do.

Most likely something in the signal for that set caused the set to lock up.

SOURCE: when we turn the tv on it will stay about 5 to 10

This model TV is known for having power supply problems. The only way to be positive of the problem is to check the components to verify what is out of specs. Replacing parts that are not known to be defective can get expensive and may not result in a working TV. The safety circuitry is shutting the TV down when it detects a problem. Often this is caused by capacitors going bad. Looking for bulging and leaking capacitors and replacing any found can often result in a working TV.

Get a 37LG60 back to channel 3 with out the TV remote

Beg, borrow or buy a Universal Remote.

Shouldn't a new set like that accept HDMI or component video/sound ? Doesn't the signal degrade in the RF stage ?

Can't get the channels to switch with the remote

All the buttons/features on the remote can be tested with a remote tester---rule the hand unit out first.

Many remotes can also be tested in a dark room with a digital camera--point remote at camera with it on and press suspect buttons--the camera should react on its display screen with a faint flash.

Channel selector doesn't work

If only 1 button does not work it may be a problem where some liquid got inside--

Some units have a lockout feature which will disable most or all buttons on the remote and or the set.

If set changes channels with the buttons on the set problem is with the remote--they can be tested easily.

Can't restore "normal" screen. It is stuck in

You might try pulling the AC plug overnight; this could be a simple 'lock-up' of a single circuit and removing its supply voltage may cure it.If this doesn't work, take any digital camera, turn it on and watch the viewfinder (LCD), aim the remote at the camera's lens and press the mode select button. If it is functioning as it should, you should be able to see a white flash occur when the remote's button(s) are pushed. The sensor in cameras is capable of 'seeing' infrared but displays it as a white light.
If the button is dead and you feel adventurous, pop open the remote's case, gain access to the board with the fixed switch contacts and gently clean them with a cotton swab dampened with rubbing alcohol. Also clean the little carbon buttons attached to the remote's keypad, again gently.
Reassemble and try it again.
If the failure is still there, then a circuit (unfortunately probably on the main board if all other functions are working) has failed and the replacement of the main board is fairly pricey.

What's your problem?Won't stop changing channels

Hello,

there is every possibility that the channel (ch - and ch +) button on the TV is stuck. This can make the TV channels change by itself. This also applies to the remote control (if any).

Turn off the TV, use your thumb to flip through the channel (ch - and ch +) button on the TV. This will free the stuck button. Also, check the channel (ch - and ch +) buttons on the remove and make sure it is also not stuck in.

If the above doesn't solve the problem, then it means fault is from the control board inside the TV. It maybe defective or needs servicing.

The board controls the buttons on the TV and it can be found on the position of the channel (ch - and ch +) inside the TV.

Note that TV stores a lot of current. So if you want to disassemble the TV to check the board allow the current to discharge by remove the TV plug from the wall and wait for about 1 hour before attempting to disassemble the TV.

Let me know if you need more assistance...

Regards.

Hi, i have 14 "

As I see it, your problem has something to do with your remote. I bet you have pressed the "auto search" button of your remote that's why your TV keeps on searching channels automatically from channel 76 down. Here's what you've got to do:

1. Get your remote control
2. Turn on your TV.
3. Press the "auto search" button to stop your TV from automatically searching channels.
4. In case it works, I'd advise you to look for channels manually using the number buttons or the "previous" or "next" buttons.
5. If it doesn't work still, contact your technician or your service provider about it. They are of great help for you!

I hope it helps. Thanks a lot.

Can't get "no signal" off

Hey cthaemar, it sounds like it may have been switched off the correct channel. If it is hooked up with a Coaxial cable it will be on channel 3 or 4, and if it is hooked up with an AV cable then it would be on one of the inputs.

If it's channel 3 or 4 try pressing the gray TV button on the remote and changing the channel. If that doesn't work you may need to use the TV's remote or the TV itself.

If it's on an input press the same gray TV button and then try pressing Input. With this you can also try the TV remote or the TV itself to change those if our remote doesn't change it.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!
