Try removing power from the unit for about 5 minutes and plug the harness back in. If that doesn't work, it will need to be repaired.

I have a pioneer Avh-x5600bhs and am trying to play audio on a DVD. Some songs play, but I get two error messages. 02-99 and 02-a9. Any ideas? Thanks

Your manual should say what kind of format it playes, and this link is good explanation ,also some burnt dvd do not play cause the player does not have the proper driver of internal decoder .

Pioneer avh-p6500dvd error 02 9e

there is a small little rubber band that drives the gears that opens the tray. It is possible that this has either broken or come off track. You may need to pull the unit out and remove the cover to see, or if your not comfortable doing this take it to like a best buy or something and their techs can help you out.

Error-02 message. won't eject cd...even after reseting. is there a manual way to remove cd?

not without taking the deck apart. try disconnecting power to the radio overnight. sometimes pressing the reset switch doesn't always completely clear the memory.

Problem wirings for Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD Car DVD Player

very easy fix. you can pay thirty bucks on ebay and buy the bypass kit or make it yourself. but the light green wire on the harness has to be hooked up to ground. just hook the light green wire to the chassie of the car and you will be able to see dvds all the time. If you want to buy the kit its not really needed I have a toggle switch on mine just for turning it on and off when I am driving. simple as putting a wire from your chassie of the car(Ground) and then the other from the unit(light green wire) to a switch. hooking it up from Supply to Acc on the switch.

Disc removal

Try pressing the reset button on the front of the unit, you will need a pen to get at the button.
