My Indesit Washing machine doesn't seem to start?

Recently the machine has been working fine but on day one of the pipes leaked and maybe spilt some water on the top of the machine. We quickly turned everything off but just before, the machine cycle knob turned 360degrees before stopping and afterwards producing a burnt smell. We checked if any water had gone inside, but we found it completely dry. Now the machine won?t start. When we push the on switch we can hear a clicking noise and the light vaguely comes on then off but it just won?t start. Could anyone please help? Thank you

It sounds like the seal is worn out around the hose possibly or it is just loose and needs tightening. Depending on how old your machine is, the hoses get dried and cracked over time as do the seals.

Hi,maybe the draw dispencer is damaged,I wouldnt think it is the drum seal,what I would do is tilt the washing machine so that the top of the machine is leaning against the wall so that the front of the machine is of the ground,then while you get underneath the front on the floor with a torch get someone to put water in the dispencer and see if you can see where the water is leaking from,I hope this was some help,all the best.

Water leaks from underneath Indesit WG1130d washing machine.

I had a problem like this and it turned out to be the hose that carried the water out to the drain was overflowing the drain pipe.
Make sure the P trap in your drain line is open and clear. A plumbers snake, draino, or a high pressure nozzle on your garden hose might help to clear it.

Suggestion: The pipe behind your machine has to have a certain height (the machine drain pipe); it does not go directly into the drain at floor level. Check this out.
