Convergence: concave picture with double image

My pcn5425r tv has developed a problem with the picture being concave on the screen and double like image to it. I noticed someone else listing the same problem with no answers listed, hoped maybe someone had figured out a possible solution? Thanks

Thank You for the the help, this helps me greatly after talking with another tech online yesterday. Now have two great tech's giving me same resolution to my problem, all I need to resolve is to verify part numbers, and order service manual for adjustment purpose after changing new board when I get it. Thanks both very much both of you saved me at least two hundred dollars on easy change out. May need ya'll again on realignment.

Thanks for the recommendation, I ordered the board today and decided to wait and see how much extra adjustment might be needed before ordering the service manual. I really appreciate your help and advice.

I have recently experienced the same problem as stated in this post. I replaced the convergence board with the replacement version, but it fits exactly. The picture is still double-vision, but the concave problem went away. Now, I also get the message "NO SENSOR DATA". I've had the TV unplugged for over a day. Everywhere I read that I need a service manual. Where can I get one of these? Are there any quick hints that will help?

    Thanks!

An easy replacement on the Samsubgs is to replace the convergence board. If you are doing this yourself it is just a plug in board. Here is a link for the part number and how to purchase it. http://www.partstore.com/Part/Samsung/Samsung/PCN5425/Samsung/Samsung/BP9400383A/New.aspx

You probably won't need to do anymore alignment then the customer convergence alignment. I would hold off on the service manual.

Picture appears concave and doubled

Most likely scenario is that the auto convergence option has disappeared which will cause the set to have an arced picture with double images. You can get the RCA repair kit called ITC222 & ITC222A convergence option missing repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com which has the replacement parts and the CD with instructions.

Problem with my Samsung PCN5425R 54 in. projection. I am seeing double and pictured is bowed and I see red and green colors on the screen. Is this the convergence board. Is this difficult to fix? I am not...

Your convergence ic’s have failed, this is a common problem with most all projection tv’s, the repair is involved. I suggest in your case calling a local repair shop.

Seeing double on my samsung rear pro

The convergence IC's are definitely bad. They are not a plug-in device, they solder in so this is a big job.

PICTURE

By the picture that you have supplied with the question you have a rear projection tv. The problem you are describing sounds like you have had the convergence module in your tv fail. Depending on the age and make of the tv, the repair costs ( if out of warranty ) can be prohibitive. The convergence module on rear projection tv's not only is in charge of bringing the 3 different color images together into a watchable picture but also handles the east west correction ( concave / convex aspect to the picture or lack there of ).

Auto Convergence not working

I'm assuming you were having picture quality problems prior to pressing the auto convergence button. If not then there could be a problem in that circuit. More likely I believe is a problem on the convergence board assembly or in the pincushion circuits. Also, check your owners manual to see if there is a manual convergence adjustment you can do.
