Had tv on and guess dozed off when i woke up red light was flahing and no picture.turned all off and back on ,still nothing.unplugged everything and plugged back in still nothing

Same thing happened to me! Went to bed last night, everything was fine. Woke up today, orange light came on, no display, slight flickering seen, but that's it. Cables and cords are fine, tried unplugging and plugging it back in, NOTHING. Totally dead. I'm guess off to buy a new one today. Typical made-in-China JUNK.

Any malfunction associated with a flashing light usually indicates a circuit problem or defective component. Unfortunately, the days of taking off the back cover of your TV and replacing a defective tube or fuse are long gone. sounds like you blew the lcd or plasma, I did the same with my Vizio, hopefully you do not have the same problem.,, does the power light stay on and no picture, and if so try and turn the power button off, if it does not shut off, and you unplug it and it shuts off and the red light goes out, and then when turn it back on the red light is out until you turn it on and the same thing happens all over again

When I try to turn the tv on, the green light flashes and eventually goes back to red. A very faint picture came across the tv a few times but didn't stay. The tv is only 3.5 years old.

hy i got a toshiba 42" LCD tv ,when i press the power boton
iget the red light,& it stay that way ontil i pressthe power back off

TV worked FINE for the past 2 yrs---this morning we woke up and the screen is totally BLACK! No sound..nothing. REmote doesn't do anything to the TV. Red light says ON unless we unplug it. Remote won't turn off the TV.
Any advise? Picture tube??
Worked great w/out any problems until we woke up today!
